I have a difficult time caring about what the business/company is doing big picture or advancing within the company. Just give me the contracts/matters you want me handle. Anyone else? Is this necessarily a bad thing?…don’t want to be married to my job.

Boss is gaslighting? Just experienced this for the first time - and would love to hear others’ experiences, too. For the past few years, my micromanager boss asked that I send them every draft of every contract to review, no matter how minor. In my performance review, when asked why I wasn’t promoted, they said that a reason was because I need to learn to stop sending them drafts to review! I said that I only did this because they asked for it, and they said they don’t remember saying that!

In-house counsel - would you prefer working at a big company specializing in a field of law, eg, privacy, IP, employment, etc, or a small company being a general counsel? Assume the small company has a higher risk of going under compared to the big company, but higher reward (via stock), and the large company pays a healthier salary.

I went from meeting HR to the head of my department I’d be working for in 3 days. This seems fast. Does it to anyone else? It’s a super fast growing fin tech. I think they may just need bodies.

Is sign-on bonus common for in-house positions? How much is it usually percentage wise to your annual?

I recently joined a company after working for myself. I’m on hubs’s health insurance. We have no kids. It’s United healthcare. The company offers United as health insurance. What’s the best way to compare plans? I have not been in this situation before so apologies in advance if this is a dumb question.

Doing a remote interview tomorrow for an in-house position that I really want. Invite says "[company] is a startup, so a full suit is not necessary! Business casual attire is recommended." Like I said, I really want this job, and the idea of not wearing a suit is just weird to me

Should I still wear the suit or would it be counter productive?
