You mean S& healthcare?

Corporate Business and Strategy área in their healthcare division

Yes...OP, that’s Strategy&’s healthcare practice. I wouldn’t refer to it as PwC’s “new healthcare strategy area”, will help with your diligence efforts too. S&’s healthcare practice is totally legit (I’m not in it, so unbiased here) and I know friends from b school that turned down other great offers to focus on HC strategy here.

Very healthy, OP. Staff are in high demand right now. What else do you want to know? I’m in HIA provider, but just did a payor project

like

Culture - good (very subjective, but most are happy as you can be working 60+ hours)
Leadership - strong
Pros - the above, easy upward mobility
Cons - high expectations, will always be busy, don’t have much say in the different projects and the projects are not very “strategic”

“As you can be working 60+ hours.” So are you saying it’s good because you are not? Just want to make sure I understood your comment correctly

Yes, they did mention it would be later focused. I was wondering more about the culture, leadership, pros and cons of working there etc.

*payer focused

Pros- I would actually counter that we do have a lot of say in the projects we get. I’ve never been staffed without someone reaching out and asking that I discuss the project with the director/manager/whoever. I’ve actually been able to pick between a few opportunities. This is not the case at other firms from what I hear .
Very smart people and mostly willing to help.
Expectation to work many hours, but leadership is working just as hard.

So I had been working as medical interpreter up to the early part of this year. Today, during an interview, the Director with whom I was interviewing genuinely urged me to consider pursuing a career as a PA or even attempt to go to medical school. I had considered it in passing before but today was about the third or fourth time that someone had earnestly nudged me in that direction. Has anyone here made such a career pivot before? I love working in healthcare, there’s nothing like it.

My new job is not stressful I now have a normal life and look forward to going to work.

I was at my first firm (big law) for almost a year before leaving to do a 2 year clerkship. After my clerkship I went to a firm for a very short time (few months) and left because it was a terrible fit. I’ve been at my current firm for about 10 months and am about to go on maternity leave soon (will be a year with current firm). I don’t want to go back after. I’m afraid my resume is starting to look like I jump ship too much - thoughts??

Current contract - amazing company that has been vocal about bringing me on when approved but no promises. Contract is $60/hr. I negotiated high due to paying private health ins at high $. I was offered a role at a different company for $105K with a $5K sign on and additional benefits. I expressed my need for a $115K base in our original conversation. Anything less than 115K is a paycut from current $ and if I was offered FTE at current contract. Thoughts on negotiating? I dont want to be greedy

Anyone here struggle with health anxiety? I have a small baby and my anxiety over her health seems to be getting worse. I always had mild health anxiety (my mom passed away due to a medical oversight), but with postpartum anxiety, things got so much worse. I do see a therapist but am struggling with this specifically (and with knowing when to take baby to a doc / to the pediatric ER vs. when to just chill because she’ll be fine). Also considering starting mediation to help take the edge off

Freelance to full time in NYC. Should annual match (or be within a few thousand) of what hourly works out to be? Yes they cover health etc but seems like more responsibilities. Hourly was mid market rate.
