Question for those who know the exit process at Deloitte: If you leave Deloitte (put in your two weeks) do they just pay you for your already earned unused PTO or do they ask you to take it instead of working your last two weeks?
I know there’s a good number of rental property owners here, both vacation/weekly rentals and long term apartments/condos/houses. Let’s post up some links/details, discuss our properties, and make some connections!
Why are people from EY posting on here? Enjoy your time off. Disconnect from work for 11 days.
I’m an Accenture US employee, we just received an email stating we are required to take PTO during the week of Christmas. Is this legal?
One hell of a productive ‘vacation day’! Spent catching up on all the training requirements and pending client work! #YayPwC!
Need some help fishers: technical operations manager, premium support aws. What kind of total comp or base salary? Vacation? Moving package? Anyone have any information? I don’t know the level.
Currently have my vaca. balance maxed out, but I'm going to take a 3 week vacation in 2 months. Anyway to "spend" my vacation in advance w/o actually taking it so I can continue to accrue more vaca???
Does Deloitte pay out PTO when you leave ?
Any advice on how to go on vacation (beach) with two kids (1 and 3)? My husband and I like adventure and I can't imagine leaving kids with relatives.. do you hire a caretaker for when we want to do more adventurous things during the day?
Any downside to buying vacation days? From what I understand if they’re not used you get your money back. Am I missing something?
I really need to give notice next week, but my boss will be out for vacation. Traditionally, all notices go to him as we are a small firm with no HR. I wanted to do it in person, but I’m not sure how to do it now?

I took PTO today (to my job) and worked today (to my family) and just sat in my home office on the internet
How many unused vacation days did ya’ll throw away in 2017? Most of the M’s/SM’s/PPMD’s I know have saved the max and take less than two weeks each year. Wondering if this is common across the D.
Did Netflix set the House of Cards release for tomorrow to prevent us from binge watching over the holiday weekend?
Left a job in government (prosecution), currently at a mid-size firm. I’m really starting to not only hate law firm life, but the practice of law generally. Is this part of the transition? I left my last job because I was on-call 24/7. Now I’m 24/7 again but due to billable requirements. I have no hobbies, no free time, and only spend about an hour/day with my kids. Not sure I want this life. At least I had insane PTO for govt work.
Big law litigators - After losing an every issue raising in an MSJ, how long before you actually consider offering a settlement? Do you wait until the eve of trial? What benefit is there to wait until the eve of trial? Is there a better time of the year to offer settlement? End of fiscal year? Before holiday season? Any insight is appreciated.
You have to get up for your flight 🤗
Have an interview with a startup tomorrow. What types of questions would you ask in my shoes? They are part of a venture innovation arm of a larger company, so less risk of falling flat, and relatively far along in product development TIA
Curious to know what associate/consultant level compensation is in MBB or Big 4 in 2 locations: Tokyo vs Singapore
When your CD, looking at concepts, kills all but the most vanilla options and says “we need to give the client what they asked for,” are they a) a bad CD, b) good at client management, c) both d) something else?
I saw a Harvard? study circa 2013ish that said effectively “be most conservative when you retire and get more aggressive as you age”. But can’t find it now. Anyone seen this and know where to find it?
I’m an incoming AC1 at Bain and I have spent the summer studying a bit for the GMAT since we had a stipend. I took it with no practice and received a 640. After studying on an off for a couple of months I received a 690. I’m likely going to cancel the score since I realize it isn’t enough for M7. To provide some more insight on my profile. I graduated undergrad from UofM BBA Magna Cum Laude, have interned in Big 4 consulting, IB, and VC, and I’m an Asian-American. What should I do?
I felt very good following Dana’s Town Hall. Having heard other networks are already facing furloughs and layoffs, did you feel as encouraged?
I'm a young software developer working with one of the FAANG but I keep hearing that fintech companies pay Software Developers more. What should I learn if a wanted to move to a Software development role in a Fintech company? In all my previous SDE roles (intern/entry level) I've always had to understand the domain of the projects so I'm thinking about upskilling as I'm not looking for entry level jobs anymore.
Looking for some MBA advice. Went to Indiana U and had mediocre GPA due to mental health struggles. Got medicated and saw a therapist and got a 4.0 my last semester. But still ended with 3.2 gpa. I am a good standardized test taker and am confident I can do well on GRE/GMAT. Given my poor undergrad GPA, am I a non-starter for an M7 MBA? Looking to improve myself as an applicant over the next year or so by seeking out leadership opps within and outside the firm. Any advice is appreciated!
SEA PAs that you admire the most in terms of “quality of projects - you want” and “leadership know what they are doing in project” => So, you like what you do in relatively sustainable way.
Anyone looking for a freelance graphic designer or illustrator? Just got laid off, and could use something to hold me over.
Are people still seeing these fully remote positions in Big Law available/people joining your firm through them? I saw many in the spring, but not sure now that we are closer to September.
Can someone please help me navigate concerns about the vaccine? Literally all I hear from Fox News zombies saying big pharma and Bill gates are pushing the vax for personal profits only and Covid is not that deadly. What has worked with those in the inner network circle? What hasn’t? My pregnant wife who is nurse received both doses and I think a couple relatives believe the baby is going to be a cyborg.
Anyone on here complete grad school through GSAP and go back to Deloitte and have any pro tips for how to do it right? (Max reimbursement, things to do before you leave, benefits, etc.)
Asking for a dear friend who is pregnant after a long battle. Recommendations for high risk pregnancy OBG/GYN in NJ? Appreciate any insights as she is in panic mode...Thank you!
Put on Fourtet on the family speakers. Always funny when other people are exposed to what you're jamming to at work. Funny thing is, parents don't seem to hate it... yet. Next I take over the remote!
I thought I was cute and adorable until I saw myself on zoom every moment of the day. I now know I a so average 😒
I’m planning to buy the study materials for the SHRM-CP certificate through Amazon. What are the best ones to obtain?
Hi Eric! What are your thoughts on how consulting firms can do better on racial and gender diversity in the workplace? What are tactical things that leadership teams can do to support their staff?
