Anyone have any professional development/leadership books they’d recommend? Doesn’t have to be lawyer or in-house related specifically, just something you found helpful. I just finished Deep Work and found some aspects helpful, but others not applicable to in-house counsel life.

My hottest take is that Robbins is a genius. I know he’s maligned these days, but his classic concepts like the hour of power have helped my success, health, and well being.

So I have completely lost interest in my area of practice mainly because I haven’t been exposed to many matters (our team is really slow) and I am the most junior in the team. So billable work is never constant. I feel like this has impacted my interest and stagnated my growth. I am thinking of moving into a different area of practice that I’m interested in. Has anyone ever done this? I’m actually depressed and I really hate being given work now. I have ADHD. Please advise

Hi, I currently am planning on interning for a very large well known company as a supply chain intern. They have been very disappointing in regards to communication and reverting to virtual after being told I would have relocation and be in person. I will have 3 other internship experiences when I graduate without this summer. Would it be worth looking now for a different internship maybe with a smaller company or having a more fun summer job? I ultimately want to be a consultant.

I’m job hunting, and I’m realizing that I am in a weird gray area of my career. I have 12 yrs management experience with e-com companies, and 5 years as a director.

It seems the only callbacks I’m getting are for management roles, and they are quick to admit that they don’t think they can afford me. But, the director roles want me to have more experience as a director.

Take a lower title/slight pay cut with the opportunity to advance quickly? Or hold out for a director title and salary?

I give Justin Jackson, Lindsay, DJ Chark

Basically giving players who will be good for the next 3-6 weeks for a weekly starter. Plus all 3 of those players are only flex spot considerations. Mike Evans has been iffy but think he’d be a solid upgrade at flex over any of those 3

Just received an in house offer for a financial company. Been in house at a different company for a couple years, however, the offer is 40% more then what I make now and hybrid (2days a week in office). Just hesitant to accept as I’m comfortable where I’m at but this is a $60k increase in pay. Hours seem to be 9-5:30/6, no weekends. Should I leverage the offer with my current company? I did that last year with another offer and they did match. I don’t. Think they will match but somewhat close.
