This happens often. If you don't have a good network with biglaw attorneys, talk to done recruiters. Know your reasoning for moving (better deals, more fast-paced, whatever appeals to you). Good luck!

I’m working on doing the same thing. I’m in a specialty group at a “well-known” larger midsized firm but from a non-target school with a low GPA so I’m focusing on big firms that pay slightly under market primarily. Just started applying through two recruiters.

Recommendations for how/if I should address clients assuming I’m the partners assistant? He usually intros as the associate or something similar but several times people have called back and are looking for “the assistant they talked to for partner.” It’s frustrating but I’m also concerned it undermines the work being accomplished if they then want to talk to an attorney about the same things we covered bc they don’t think I am the attorney working on the case.

I'm an SDR and have found it challenging to find alignment with my AE's. We don't really strategize on accounts - something I've been working hard to improve. I'm curious to know what has helped for other SDR's and AE's. I'm always also open to getting feedback even when it's uncomfortable. I just need the support.

Does anyone out there agree that so much of the violence we are seeing in schools and society is a spiritual problem and not necessarily a political one? I’m not opposed to gun reform, but I think as long as a human being desires to hurt others, keeping people safe will be very difficult.

Hello there! I'm currently getting specialized into AI/ML and want to get into the finance/Fintech sector. Is a MSc worth it for the task - an online course would do?

Also, I'm new to the platform and based on what I read, most of the users are from the USA, is there no European influence here??

Thanks!

I’m in house. Thinking about making a move to private firm. I have 5 YOE and trying to see if it makes sense. TC is roughly 200k at the moment but I feel like getting in a firm could make much more in the long run. Is it worth it? Midwest market I.E Indianapolis or Cincinnati. Thoughts?

Just finished articling at a firm and was offered a position to stay on with them. I was offered another position at another firm which I want to take but not until the new year. My current firm is now pressuring me to sign a contract with them where it stipulates I would need to provide 1 month notice. Do I sign and quit as originally intended? I was planning on beginning at the new firm in February. Or should I let them know my intentions sooner? I’m afraid it will effect my year end bonus.

Need 1st year lateral recruiting advice:

For the sake of time, I won’t explain the reasonings why I want to leave my boutique ID firm.

I’m a 1st year and only have around half a year experience. I want to go in a different practice within lit at a NYC AM 200. I know recruiters rarely work with 1st years, but applying on firms’ websites feels like my app will be lost. I want to leave asap for my mental health, but I know this process will take some time.

Recommendations on what to do? Thanks
