Anyone have any success lateraling from mid law to big law? Have any tips for a 4th year hoping to make that move?

Recommendations for how/if I should address clients assuming I’m the partners assistant? He usually intros as the associate or something similar but several times people have called back and are looking for “the assistant they talked to for partner.” It’s frustrating but I’m also concerned it undermines the work being accomplished if they then want to talk to an attorney about the same things we covered bc they don’t think I am the attorney working on the case.

I'm an SDR and have found it challenging to find alignment with my AE's. We don't really strategize on accounts - something I've been working hard to improve. I’m in house. Thinking about making a move to private firm. I have 5 YOE and trying to see if it makes sense. TC is roughly 200k at the moment but I feel like getting in a firm could make much more in the long run. Is it worth it? Midwest market I.E Indianapolis or Cincinnati. Thoughts?

Just finished articling at a firm and was offered a position to stay on with them. I was offered another position at another firm which I want to take but not until the new year. My current firm is now pressuring me to sign a contract with them where it stipulates I would need to provide 1 month notice. Do I sign and quit as originally intended? I was planning on beginning at the new firm in February. Or should I let them know my intentions sooner? I’m afraid it will effect my year end bonus.

Have I limited my options by clerking for five years at the state level? (2 yrs for criminal judge, 2 yrs as staff attorney for a different trial court, 1 yr clerking at appeals court) I’m starting to look for a civil litigation position for next year. I have an open mind on the practice area.

I'm a 6th year on my third firm. Every time I left it was for a huge increase in pay and prestige (Am200->Am100->Vault 20).
