Anyone have any suggestions on how to transfer out of assurance into advisory / strategy?

What’s the most petty thing you’ve seen a firm do to an attorney who is lateraling out? Mine just revoked my renewal paperwork and payment for 2021-22 bar dues, even though they’ve already submitted it I’ll still be an employee when they’re due (7/1). Money’s not the issue. They can dock the $400 from my final check for all I care. The administrative hassle is the petty part, and it’s so inconsequential that it genuinely made me chuckle. I don’t even blame them. Kinda respect the hustle tbh.

Salary comparison question here. Class of 2016, been doing lit ever since but switched firms last summer from boutique to lit/ins defense firm of about 30 lawyers. 2000 billable req. and salary just shy of $80k w/potential for quarterly bonus for billable hours and yearly bonus for receipts by 12/31. I’m in the South in a medium sized city (think ~700k not like ATL). Not looking to see what all you big law folks are bringing in but just curious about where I stand when review happens.
