Hi..I am a supply chain consultant having more than 6.5 years experience.My technology is primarily "QUINTIQ".I know probably you have never heard of it.It is pretty rare and mostly used in Europe. The dilemma I am facing is that I am not getting offers from any product based/ big 4 only service based companies. Consulting.. More because you get to see more clients and you get to learn more.. Different networks, different environment and you will get to experience different attack vectors.. I would say definitely consulting in the learning years of your career..
Yes if I were to switch to industry down the road would I have the technical skills and a niche to be competitive in higher roles
Consulting helps set u up for leadership roles and recruiters like consultants bc they know you've faced multiple problems, big clients, and high performance environments. Just be sure you can speak to intelligently what's on your resume and you'll be fine.

I agree with ey1, but I also don't know how the ppl I work with are technical....this work is not that technical. Industry is waaaaay more hands on. Also, industry pays more below manager buuut upward momentum is slower.
Oh yeah absolutely.. Without a doubt. Why do you think most of the highly respected personnel in this industry are consultants?
