Anyone have any tips for overcoming burnout? I’ve had some toxic work environments over the last 10 years and finally in a company I value with a job I feel valued in. I worked hard to climb the corporate ladder and ended up taking a down level and a slight pay cut to feel happier and I definitely do BUT I still feel the effects of burnout on the daily. I also feel guilty for not feeling more grateful for how good I have it and for lacking motivation. Any advice from others that experience this?

I get it. A bad working environment and a terrible boss broke me. I’m in a
fantastic environment with a great boss now, but I have moments when I’m just toast. My therapist says it’s PTSD. Almost like a fear of being happy and safe. I’m still working on it day by day.

No specific advice to your situation but the few people I knew who experienced burnout, the only real path for them was to take a break. That meant anything from maximizing out their leave time to quitting their current job and taking time off work.

Yes. What worked for me was a combination of committing to my favorite spinning class twice a week (rain or shine, no excuses), meditation once a week, eating healthy, reading, going back to therapy and taking care of people I love when they needed me. Something about focusing on making others feel better just circles back the right way, everytime. Hope you soon find your own power mix. Truly encourage you to try these out!

I take a day off occasionally. Rarely I stay in bed and just rest. Other days I do thing I enjoy like take a walk with neighbors, go shopping, get my nails done,etc. a change in routine is helpful

Use your company’s EAP and use your vacation or PTO to totally unplug. Find more groups like this also to share and express your burnout.

Know that “You” are valuable and add value to your workplace.

Has anyone figured out how to not feel absolutely horrendous when you wake up? I dread mornings because waking it so hard for me.

Does anyone have recommendations on a good diet to follow? Here's some info: I've been doing HIIT and metabolic strength training classes 3-4 times per week, also have field hockey one day a week. Try to eat healthy with chicken meals, not many carbs, fruits, shakes...but am not seeing huge results yet (it's been 2-3 months so far). I feel better and see some difference in my lower half but my upper half is what I want to slim down!

What’s the best low calorie, high protein snack?

Background- In quarantine I’ve been intermittent fasting &calorie counting for a few months, and still working out in the mornings. My workout has usually been a 3-4 mile run and I’ve definitely gotten leaner but I’m now trying to add in more strength training, and so I feel like I should be getting protein after my workouts.

Has anyone experienced extreme bloating? Sometimes when I drink my protein shake, I feel extremely bloated. Sometimes when I go to a restaurant, I get bloated to the point I can’t even walk. I’m not sure if I’m overeating or something changed.
I mostly eat very clean and am fully vegan so don’t consume any animal products.
I don’t want to stop consuming food when I go out but am considering stopping protein shakes as they make me feel terrible
