I interviewed there 2 years ago. Thoughts:
1. Despite the branding around digital transformation and consulting, vast majority of the work was IT PMO, with a key focus being migrating customers to Google cloud and other google digital products. If you don't want to do that, steer clear. They seemed to like the idea of focusing some people on more traditional IT consulting work instead of implementation, but there was no mature, workable model in sight yet.
2. People seemed nice, laid back, fun and happy. Small firm and small office means theyre tight knit and know each other across levels and functions. Work life balance seemed clearly better consulting, with limited travel.
3. People seemed *too* nice and fun. It felt a bit cult like. I got the vibe that if you don't drink the kool aid and act happy, you get blackballed. Going to happy hours and such is all but mandatory. Someone who worked there told me that it isn't quite as great as they make it seem, but it isn't bad either.
4. Pay didn't seem remarkable. A lateral move from a premium big 4 team (think S&O, S&) may result in a pay cut. Moving from a lower end team may get a pay bump. Maybe they will dangle a promotion to someone and that bump will make it worthwhile.
Awesome appreciate the response. Seems they rely on end to end implementation but with Atos acquisition positioned to do some more strat type work
If Atos bought Maven Wave to build out or become their google cloud practice then your ability to join MW and get access to strategy work outside of google cloud may be limited. Be sure to ask about that in the interview process.
MW people seemed open and honest, so asking should be all you need. Unlike consulting firms that sell you on strategy and staff you on PMO, I think MW will be straight with you about what work you should expect to do upon joining. The acquisition may cause uncertainty, so things could change beyond what MW knows today.
