Does anyone else wish their school had been more up-to-date on STEM when they were a kid? I went to college with some kids who had been practicing and studying code since middle school. I learned about it from the internet in high school enough that I wanted to go to college for it, but I still feel like I started behind everyone else regardless of gender.

Since the start of my career, I have been working in an outsourcing accounting group, mostly doing accounting work for small/mid-size businesses. I am a CPA. At this point in my life, I am thinking of moving to a corporate accounting job. I don’t want to work late hours as we do in public accounting since my wife is pregnant and I want to enjoy this process and have a more work life balance.

What are some financial strategies that can help me save money & create passive income.

Ever since I joined this app I feel so trash about the (lack of) money I have saved lol. I’m 24 and only have 3k in the bank with a salary of 70k. I live at home but 50% of my salary goes to my mom to cover household expenses. The remainder goes to my student loans and my other bills. I asked my husband to spend more time with our son so he decides to take our toddler to an open soccer field while other adult players are playing games. If a man doesn’t want the baby and you’re pregnant, I don’t think you should have the baby. Even if you’re independent and financially set, the emotional toll for that child of having a father who never wanted you and your own emotional toll of it too just aren’t worth it imo🤷‍♀️

I had a nice conversation with the hiring manager yesterday and at the end of the interview he tells me that the next step is a test. I feel like I went back to the 90's. I checked online and it looks like an IQ test. This sounds to me so retrograde. After this test, if I "pass" I guess, there will be 2 more rounds of interviews and a in-person panel. My dad is coming to stay with us for a week and wants to take care of my 15 month old alone. The last time he saw her was Thanksgiving and has never spent more than a day with her, never alone. My dad wants us to let the nanny “take the week”. Check my thinking - keep the nanny the full week to be at the house so she can step in as needed. If my dad takes the baby out on walks / playground nanny can help with cooking / laundry? I think my dad is underestimating how hard a baby is.

Do you feel getting angry and blowing up is a choice? When my husband gets angry sometimes he just yells and says awful things. We have talked about it and he is working on it (truly, it has gotten better) but whenever he regresses I can’t help but feel he is CHOOSING to engage. I know I’m culpable too and set him off but I also feel like he choose to continue to engage when I ask him to go and cool off. I’m really struggling to be empathetic here.
