Anyone have experience selling points on third party site? Which ones are good?

Hey y’all, this is weird but I have a question that I’m asking for a friend, we’ll call her Kate: She is a “Product Content Manager”. English degree. She spends all day in our PIM system building out data points for products with a different offshored team. She also writes blogs and product copy on occasion. She has 6 years of experience and wants more money but has no idea what the next “step up” is. Does anyone have any ideas? I looked around and I’m at a loss. She can’t code

What’s the general consensus (if it exists) about buying points on a mortgage loan? If it helps, I’m getting quoted at 2.875 rate but can buy a little over a point for 9k to get the rate down to 2.625% (loan is a little over 700k). How do I best think about this? I’m expecting this to be a long term home (20+ years ideally unless something goes awry)
