My manager casually threw out that she had an exec tell her it’s fine if she wants to close my division down next year. We are a niche team in a large company. I asked her to clarify as I am worried about my team (and me) she said we would be “well taken care of” as in receive severance…she was so casual about it and said she didn’t know what she would do - we’re performing well, but it’s a small market. What do I do? Warn my team? Look for jobs? I have been here for 20 years w/niche skills…

From what I’ve seen, it appears that Asian-Americans (born and raised in the US)
have been more empathic and supportive of Black people and the movement right now vs. Asians from Asia in the US. Anyone seeing something similar? If so, why is that? Less exposure to diversity?

Any insight on seeing folks move from Sales to SE?
I am a former SE who has been in a pure sales role for the last 2+ years. Could see myself in either role, but depends on the company. I definitely have an above average technical aptitude than 'most' sales people, I like to consider the overall trade offs.
Living in SF but remote until September (earliest). Rent is too high + apartment too small to justify staying for 3+ months. Playing with the idea to leave (temp or perm). Are people doing the same?
Current corporate litigator attorney with extensive healthcare education thinking about switching from current attorney job. Hate the monotony and micromanagement prevalent throughout law. Is this a crazy idea or the best decision I’ll make for my career? Any thoughts and tips appreciated!
I have 2 years experience of tech sales as an AE, I’m looking for a new challenge. Which are the best industries/companies that you would recommend to work in the tech sales space?
I've worked for two companies in my 20 year career, and went for a very specific role when I joined Microsoft. I'm now facing the reality of needing to explore other opportunities, and I haven't a clue where to start or what the best practices are for job hunting. Any and all advice is welcome. If there is a bowl for this, please point me in that direction.
I am unsure if anyone could provide insight on this question but wanted to ask. I have a friend that currently has his real estate license and interviewing with liberty mutual as a claims adjuster. Anyone in the EdTech field? Previous role was roughly 4 years as an enrollment advisor for an EdTech OPM. Looking to stay in Higher Ed or K-12 sales. Looking to see if there are any referrals that could be made as I would love to stick with a sales role. Any SDR, BDR, AE roles would be greatly appreciated.
I’m thinking of leaving accounting and get back into sales. Sold cars for 5 years and was a finance manager (the guy selling you extended warranties) for 2. Went back into accounting because thought I’d work the field I studied for and go for CPA. What do you guys recommend? How does one get into fintech sales, any certifications I should work towards, etc. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated!
I have received a written offer for a Bilingual Account Manager for a large pharma company in Toronto. 70k with 7% performance based bonus. During interviews I never set an expectation. I am meeting with HR to go over some minor details in the contract before i sign it. Would it be out of line to ask for 80k with the same bonus maximum? I am leaving a manager role with a medical device company also in toronto.
Is it just me or can being a top performer come with a LOT of stress. I’ve been with this startup since it was 15 employees but I just don’t feel appreciated for everything I’ve done.
How many different companies did you interview with before you received an offer at your current company? And how long was that process? I’ve been on a job hunt for close to 4 months! Getting a lot of interviews but no offers.. getting frustrated!!
What are some ways that you’ve created urgency or rebuilt momentum in a deal cycle where it was otherwise lost? (E.g. customer ghosting you)
