There are many reasons why the current atmosphere for clinicians is a total shit show. What irks me the most is when companies say they treat everyone like “family” but do things like micromanage you or treat you like crap. My spouse and I recently adopted an older shelter dog (Carlotta). Some of the other MDs at my hospital were putting together a "Dr. and Dog" social event, so I took Carlotta. The amount of jabs I got for bringing a shelter "mutt" (with typical elderly dog health ailments) instead of purchasing an expensive designer dog like everyone else was astounding.
