Commercial vs Public sector/Federal Consulting within the Big 4 or MBB. Differences in culture, types of work, wlb, exit opportunities, etc
Hi fishes, Just wanted to know work life culture in publicis. Got selected and I’m in a confusion on seeing glassdoor reviews.
People that went from the likes of ACN and Deloitte to MBB, how was the transition and what differences did you find in culture, work-life balance, and actual work?
Should I be concerned if my leader heavily refers to urban Myers leadership styles and quotes? I recently learned more about him and started reading his book because I needed to understand my current work culture better... and it’s not jibing with me.
Anyone here at Genentech? Wondering what opportunities are there (a bit confused by the careers page), and what the overall culture, wlb etc is.
We are a family with 2 kids under 3 years. Yoe : 13 - 40 lpa Yoe : 10 - 20 lpa. Watched on YouTube about the Netherlands biking culture and how it's a good place for kids. Thinking of staying long term and sending kids to Dutch school. Just beginning to apply via LinkedIn. Both of us plan to work and needed inputs on what combined salary would make sense. Would it be good to accept an opportunity if one us of us gets 60keuro and hope spouse would get an opportunity once we move there?
Like the Boston culture, but really hate the cold weather and need to move. Where should I move to? Consider culture, cost of living, career opportunities, tax, etc.
Struggling at work (first time manager, re-orgs, toxic culture) for the last 6 months. Experiencing secondary infertility and PCOS. Decided to hold out to utilize my mat benefits, hopefully to become pregnant after a few rounds of medications and lifestyle changes. No luck. Now work has gotten worse and I’m so burnt out. Been applying to jobs and think I’m close to an offer. Have started seeing a specialist but now scared of TTC with a potential new job offer. Has anyone been here before?
Hi fellow recruiters! 🙋🏻♂️ would love to get an idea of what the culture at Pinterest is and how recruiters feel about working there?
Want to capitalize on this good job market—what are the “best exits” for someone with product innovation and traditional growth strategy experience? Best in terms of pay and culture
Has anybody heard about Microsoft’s M12? What do you know about their brand/culture/growth opps?
What factors would you consider for staying back at your firm if they almost match the offer? Key differences - 1. New firm has a bigger brand value. Might open doors in the future for bigger firms. 2. Current firm has excellent WLB and culture. 3. New firm in Metro, current in non-metro. Significant rent increase in metro. 4. Hikes and growth not good in the new firm. If I stay back I’d have the same scenario in current firm as well.
A client has a very-difficult-to-pronounce name which is a tongue twister for me. Don’t intend to butcher the name, but just can’t say it right. Personally, if someone from another culture said my name a bit differently, I just wouldn’t mind. This client is touchy about it. How do you handle this?
Is it okay to follow up after an interview? I sent a “thank you” email the same day as the interview, but now I’d like to know if they’re going proceed with a second round.
My uncle, and aunt, had about $750k in investments scattered across 14 different retirement accounts, brokerage accounts, annuities, on different platforms. They are 65. Three months ago they asked me if I could help them consolidate everything. I agreed. We started the process and this week the last of the funds came into their new Vanguard accounts! Question: how do I scale this work organically, as a side hustle? I have an MBA in finance, but no CFP or other financial planning designation.
Chance me: 3.7 from semi-target, 1 year in big 4 consulting, 2 STEM master’s from HYPS, 2 years at top quant hedge fund (Bridgewater/Citadel/Two Sigma), 750 GMAT. No extracurriculars, white male. Want to start my own fund in a few years. Targeting HSW.
Accidentally missed credit card payment of $12 because it auto connects to my uber card I never use and now I’m scared it’s gonna negatively affect me

How hard would it be to make the jump from designer to art director? For context, when applying for this job I thought I would be a designer with some ideation opportunities (there are no Junior Art Directors in our creative hierarchy). Craving for more ideation/big-thinking art direction in my next gig.
ORD to LGA take two. Delayed again.
Anyone @Kearney have any advice or willing to speak with me regarding the case interviews? I have mine coming up next week.
Hi all, I am cloud/tech strategy consultant with an emphasis on overall business strategy, who is looking to make a switch to McKinsey as an Associate. As I understood, a referral is the best way to get a foot in the door and so I was wondering if any of the McKinsey colleagues here would be kind enough to have a brief chat with me and, if they see fit, give me an internal referral? McKinsey & Company Many thanks!
Besides compensation and other benefits, what are some of the reasons that make you want to stay with your firm & practice? Looking for innovative ideas to keep my team engaged and growing.
I am interviewing at a startup ($50-100M revenue) for a VP role to lead a new line of business. What compensation package would you expect given the role and stage of the business?
What are some positive and negative examples of firms attempts to improve I&D (e.g., positive: expanding list of target schools | negative: recruiting "seasons" only available to one gender)?
Help me on below queries 1. Time taken by pwc India to deliver laptop. 2. Are they still reimbursing wfh setup. 3. By when wfh is extended.
A wonderful friend recommended me to a recruiter, when the recruiter was looking to place a creative. This role is at a small agency, I’m going to be paired with a Sr. Copywriter. They’re looking for a conceptual thinker and brilliant designer, no pressure. I have some internships and some freelance under my belt since graduating portfolio school, and a current laptop that’s running on fumes ha. I’m intimidated, cautious, yet super grateful to finally hear from someone. Any words of wisdom?
Deloitte fish: were you able to successfully expense a crib mattress and hatch baby white sound machine with your well being subsidy?
I've been working at this company for about 3.5 weeks now. Its been great so far. We have an org chart in our dashboard ATS/HRIS and so I clicked on my first day buddies name just for fun. I was able to see her entire employee file..even her address. I was really freaked out and I went to another profile and the same thing happened, I was able to see this person's emergency contact. Is this fucking normal? Should I say something and will I get in trouble for looking at a colleagues file?
What is the best certification to pursue in this area? Looking at SHRM-CP but want to learn more about others.
