Anyone have experience/advice for recruiting into biotech without a PhD? Interested in making the switch, desperate to get out of consulting, not sure if I’m qualified and not sure what to expect from the recruiting process...

You have to know your stuff. You don't need to have a PhD, but having knowledge of the R&D process and the industry is key + understanding a good level of science behind various products. If you have previous wet lab experience or publications play those up as well.

What roles specifically would you recommend looking at? I’m at the project manager rn and I’ve been looking at roles that are very focused on commercial strategy and market intelligence. Are there case interviews or more that they ask a lot of industry specific/ technical questions? Thanks for the help!

Program/ project management are easily accessible to consultants. Depending on your level of industry knowledge and other skills bizops/ strategy/ product management may also be options. Some of the above will require a PhD but there are plenty of positions that will not - at the end of the day it will depend on part of the organization and the specific role.

Thank you! Appreciate this insight.

I’d be curious for peoples thoughts on permanent life insurance. We’re early 30s, 2 kids. We can very likely comfortably afford the big up front investment for the next 15 years or so. It feels like putting the money to work in equities is a better play but don’t want to write this off if it’s worth it. Right now I’d say our net worth is around 1.5 with 55% equities. 30% home equity, 10% preferreds, 5% cash.
