Hello everyone, can anyone please tell me here how advisory is different from audit in terms of work life balance and growth perspective? And also which big 4 has better opportunities in FAAS profile ? Looking forward to make switch from audit to advisory.
At a boutique firm for just over a year, I know this isn’t the best place for my growth, but a promotion is coming. Am I better of sticking around or try to go to MBB or big 4 at an associate level?
I feel a split in Big 4 about working hours. If one gets in at 8 and leaves at 5, or at 830 & leaves at 530 etc, why do some people who come in at 9/930 get upset people don’t stay until they leave?
Big 4 offer: 65k Mid size (top 10) offer: 71k Would it be delusional if I accept the mid size offer?
What's the pay range to ask from Amazon if you're accepted in a Project Manager kind of role and you come from big 4 consulting as a manager? Is 160-170K a good range to give? Too high or too low?
Not getting opps I was promised so not getting much experience (reg compliance). It's been 3yrs. Is basic knowledge, some compliance exp, & Big 4 on my resume enough to join Fed Reserve (Examiner)?
Big 4 is a high school ! I like to play :)
Possibility of joining B4 FAAS as a S1 with 1.5 years of audit exp at a regional firm and 1 year of industry?
Curious what Admissions would think about a gap in work experience? I would love to leave b4 and spend full time studying for GMAT/ searching for a new job w better wlb. Insight/input much appreciated.
MBB, and particularly Big 4 fish - How much of your time do you spend on internal marketing of your services, internal recruitment to your service line? None, Some, Much or Lot.
Tax professionals who have left B4/PA, how has your work life balance been in private/industry? PA offers decent flexibility, although I don’t appreciate having to be available more often than not.
Anyone work at both MBB and Big 4 in their career (i.e. the McDeloitte combo)? How drastically different was the average level of talent? Were there any dumb McK's you thought would struggle at McD's?
Anyone quit B4 before lining up another job? I’ve been interviewing for a couple of roles and haven’t gotten any green lights yet but I honestly dread the thought of going back to work tomorrow.
Any Big 4 fish who are not really pursuing MBB for exit ops... what are your exit goals?? And for what reasons? Trying to find options other than chasing MBB
Would experience in big 4 FDD make one a competitive candidate for FP&A or other roles in a FAANG several years down the line?
In all honesty, I understand people are leaving Big 4 right now because they have decent exit ops or better WLB ops, but what about people working at small/boutique firms making $100-105k as a SC/M? Is it worth it to join a Big 4 if you can potentially get a 20-30% pay increase, i.e. is the increase in salary worth the headache and travel?Deloitte Accenture PwC EY
Brand name versus type of experience. Assume experience at the brand name will be less relevant to what I want to do long-term. The “brand” in this case is not Big 4/MBB
Can anyone suggest which company to join . Taking in consideration this compensation and also any lay offs history , if any ? - Persistent systems 14 LPA - Synechron 13 LPA - CGI 12.5 LPA + 1 LPA joining + some shares every month - Siemens 12.5 LPA + 1 LPA joining
I'm applying/attending job interviews for financial analyst type roles in industry from Big4. I don't really have an industry that I'm really passionate about. I'm paranoid that I'll exit and get stuck in a specific industry. Did any of you have issues moving between industries? How did you manage to be competitive or overcome that issue when changing industries? Thanks!
What are some good exit ops for a Big 4 SC in financial services consulting and exit salaries? Haven't looked but want to get a gauge of what to expect, not limited to FS exit ops either.
Anyone in a condo need to get walls in insurance? Please explain this to me, thanks so much. First time buyer here
Just saw a social media post by a CCCO that makes it sound like he’s suffering through this new WFH routine. Jesus. Get some perspective. And what is so tough about WFH? So old fashioned.
How long after interviews are applicants notified of decision? What’s the longest you’ve heard someone wait and he/she was accepted?
If you take a connecting flight does it count as two segments (MQS) for status acquiring purposes. Can't find answer online
Do all FAANG companies offer a joining bonus?
What is the average pay now in midsize if you guys don’t mind sharing you salary details? Senior tax associate year 1.
How do you ask for a raise when you know your CCO is going to start by saying he went above and beyond for you and really did his best. But you know you are underpaid.
I have close to 9 years of experience with technology consulting across India and the US with Deloitte US( I was hired at the india offices of Deloitte US). I have been admitted to Ivey business school for 2023 batch. Post MBA, I want to make a move to management consulting as that was one of the biggest driving factor for me to purse an MBA. From my research I gathered that getting into MBB is extremely difficult due to very few openings. What can I do to boost my chances of getting into MBB?
For those who transferred cities while keeping (roughly) the same salary, how did it affect the size of your first post-move bonus if at all? I.e. does transferring midway through the performance year work against you?
I am going to get a promotion next year and I have to chose between managing a person or picking 10 accounts in the healthcare sector to grow. In both cases I will have a target of 3-4 Million Usd. I do Healthcare consulting based in Singapore. Any views or suggestions based on experience?
Anyone have any insights on Select Equity’s expertise, culture, and interviewing process? Was approached for a role and intrigued by the opportunity
Just curious, what percentage of your billable rate do you take home? Calculation would be ((Salary and Bonus/Yearly Billable Hours)/Billable Rate). For me it's about 18% as a Senior 1 in M&A Tax (note this doesn't include other benefits).
In early talks for a VP position on the media side. What is a good salary range for that role? The initial band the hr team quoted seemed low to me.
