Going to depend on what office and the people you work with for culture. Salary will be significantly less than market in any market. Retention is great at the partner level, but some churn at the associate level. They are good at what they do and it’s a good place for training. If your main concern is money it’s also a good way to get experience and lateral into a biglaw position.
Thanks! JL does feel like a good segue into big law and a great opportunity to learn L&E.
What about work life balance, is it still hybrid?
Below market salary is interesting, I’m coming from a small firm that pays pretty well for the area and my level of experience. I truthfully don’t know what market salary rates are. Can I expect something around 140k potentially? For context, I’m considering the NJ office.
As stated above, WLB really depends on the office and the partners. I have great WLB at JL and the partners in my office are great. Billable hour requirement is 1850. 50 of that can be training/pro bono.
I agree with A1. What office are you considering ?
