Anyone have any suggestions for getting a client to cooperate with discovery. We were retained by a insurance company for their insured and he has not returned emails or phone calls in about 4 weeks. Plaintiff’s counsel wants a settlement offer, and discovery responses or they’re gonna file a motion to compel. The company has been made aware of the insured’s noncooperation but they have tell us they’re pulling coverage for us to withdraw.

My company is transitioning from wfh back to the office, but everyone returning to the office is supposed to be vaccinated. I told my boss I would NOT be getting the vaccine and he said I wouldn’t have a desk in the office until I did. So I told him I would continue to wfh. He said that “wouldn’t work.” After our phone call, I got an invite for a zoom conference with my boss and an HR rep!? They’re infringing on my rights by requiring a vaccine. What can I do to make sure I keep my job?

Is there a corporate / transactional job out there where you work predictable hours, maybe a weekend here and there each month, but are able to maintain some semblance of a life? I’m a 3rd year assoc and enjoy my work, but need time for certain personal things (family, health). I have an MBA and am willing to move into more of a business driven role. Recently went from a V50 to a large boutique and still haven’t found much improvement in schedule control. Does in house do this or is that a myth?

Does anyone have BCBS Illinois insurance direct from the marketplace that covers IVF? Can you share the monthly cost? I’d like to switch insurance next year, my Aetna coverage through my employer is horrible, I have a lifetime amount that’s almost maxed out and I only have one normal embryo from my first IVf try. How do you deal with toxic Asians with a superiority complex that constantly "other" and insult you as "white"?

I'm definitely 2nd Gen/ABC, so not the most culturally Asian. That being said, still celebrate key holidays so it's annoying and borderline bigoted when some tells me I'm "not Asian" and "white." My parents chose to raise me more American so I fit in, so to be insulted over something I didn't "choose" gets annoying.
