What should be a normal salary for a machine learning engineer/data scientist job in Lugano, Switzerland? I have a 1 year experience in Data Science and 1 year experience in software engineering.

More of a gut check than anything but I’ve noticed a trend. People say they want to work in tech, but what they really mean is they want to work at Google, Microsoft, or AWS. If people actually wanted to work in technology you would see a lot more people trying to get in to firms like Akamai, Databricks, PANW etc. The other day I saw someone comment “I have an offer from Cisco but don’t know if they’re big tech”… Theyre one of the biggest digital comms providers on the planet, how are they not??

Has anyone ever asked to renegotiate their salary after starting a job? I’m 2 months into my new job and I have far more responsibilities than what I was told. It’s a lot different than what was relayed in the posting and during the interviews. Additionally, they hired my counter part in as a senior manager which is at least $30k more than what I make. My peer has more experience so I expect that but I feel that I should be paid more, however I don’t want to leave a bad impression… any advice?

Partners/shareholders - how many hours are you expected to bill on work vs client dev and firm/associate management? My firm keeps saying that "there's no such thing as a relationship partner" and everyone top-to-bottom is expected to log 2000 hours/year on real billable work. Marketing etc is done on top of that. Hi! First off, I know none of this constitutes legal advice, etc., but I’d like some outside perspectives and advice here.

My wife found out she makes ~25% less that her male co-worker did when he was her level of seniority, and they have the same job responsibilities and the exact same credentials (same undergrad, masters program, etc.); he now makes 50% more than she does, but has 3 more years of WE, so to me that’s not as applicable.

Recently received an offer from Ogletree to do only class action work. It'll be a big change for me, I'll be starting as a fourth year. Double my current salary, etc.

What will this be like? It's more of a niche, but lucrative, part of their practice, right? Will I really get good WLB like they claim? I have a nice 40 hour a week job right now, no billables.

Any advice for Fla business that may have to let go of staff? 20-25 emp; furniture mftg. Don't practice employment and they can't afford lawyer that does. They want to comply with laws.
