Very high end litigation boutique. But they do see a lot of turnover.

Correct. Can't exactly put my finger on it, but it seems to be some mix of culture and work mix. They are pretty generalist and not as much opportunity to specialize in white collar, or other areas

I had a friend who used to work there. She said the culture was just kind of okay and she didn't really have great work life balance. I am sure that could be said about a lot of places though.

Hey all—not quite an ad fish in Toronto but ideally would like to become one, and I’m not sure if there’s a better place to post this. I’m born + raised in the US, but my boyfriend lives in Canada and I’m looking, hoping, to make the jump up north to be with him full time.

I know there’s a big ad scene in Toronto. Do you think it’s possible for me to get a job there from the US and move up there?

Hello everyone,
I am starting my job search again. I am being set up and gas lighted at the current company I work in. It is very discouraging I ask for help and people refuse to help me & give me the run around. I am early in my marketing career and I work in media planning/buying. I work remotely and would like to stay remote for another year if possible.

I have five months in the company. I want to stay in the similar role but I also want to know if you all have other role recommendations

Hello! I am extremely frustrated because my company does not have a formal training program. My manager always defaults to me when it comes to training new employees. Training is NOT in my job description. Is this something that I should discuss with my manager? I wouldn’t mind training if I was getting compensated for it. I’m afraid that they might just say it’s part of being a “team player”.

Why is this moderator so biased? When Trump talks she cuts him off and says we need to move on, doesn't let him respond to allegations. But when Biden keeps talking and talking, she let's him finish.
Why is it so impossible to find a moderator who is good at their job, and can be equal and unbiased?

Hi all! I’m looking to transition to a mid-sized/big law firm in NYC upon completion of my bankruptcy clerkship in Seattle in three months. New York barred and interested in bankruptcy/restructuring work. Graduated from Emory with honors. Anyone know of firms looking to hire in the near future? Any recommendations/tips/advice on how best to approach the process. I’ve never actually worked for a firm in the past, so I’m a bit foreign in how best to attract the larger firms. Thanks!

Serious billing question - if during the course of the day, you first receive an email from Client A at say 11:10am and you read it, you then respond to it at 12:20pm. You get another email at 2pm from Client A and respond immediately. The next email comes in at 4pm, you read it and respond only at 4:30pm. None of the email responses take more than 3-5mins. You are working on matters for other clients at all other times during the day. How much are you billing for Client A?

Kind of niche question here but under NY CPLR, if a plaintiff files a MTD/MSJ, and then the defendants file opposition papers containing information that the court had previously ordered to be kept under seal, would you a) file a reply asking to seal/strike the opposition papers or b) file a separate OTSC since you’re now seeking additional relief not sought in the original motion?
