I applied for a Director Learning and Development (L&D) role at McKinsey about a month ago via a referral. About a week ago, my McKinsey employee (who referred me) received an automated email saying that I had moved to the pre-screening process of the recruitment process and that I'll hear from the recruiter shortly.

It's more than a week now and I haven't heard back. Can anyone shed light on the process -- what to expect, timelines etc.

Good news and a plug for pro bono- Last year I took a pro bono family law/CPS case (I practice in another area). It was a nightmare, went completely off the rails, and I was working nonstop on it until we settled in a mediation. Now, though, every holiday (Mother’s Day, thanksgiving) each member of the family- dad, grandma, even their friend, text me to say happy holiday and give me an update on how well the kids are doing. It was hell at the time but these little updates lift my spirits. ☺️

CTR, contracts and department overhaul

our marketing dept is undergoing a complete overhaul. under old leadership, a $75k 12-mo contract was signed to a marketing group that handles our SEO, blog and everything Google Ads. All things I can and am in training to do. Current CTRs on G ads seem pitiful at no more than 0.75%. My meta ads coast around 4-6%. During this overhaul, would it be wise to not renew our contract, and negotiate for me to take over these roles and leverage a raise?
