Working moms, why are we not accommodated FULLY for nursing breaks? My last employer allowed break accommodations for me to nurse my child, but my current employer does not. They state that they do not offer break accommodations for nursing moms bc federal law only says that we are allowed to have an extra unpaid break for nursing. Still, bc I am not salary, it means that I would need to make up the time I took for an extra break at the end of my shift = longer days in the office. Currently ...

Anyone here adopt a puppy during the infertility struggle? Husband and I considering it to have something positive throughout this situation and thinking the extra companionship would be helpful. I work from home. Husband has had many family dogs and lots of experience with it, I’ve had a family cat before. I have a governmental entity client in Texas that wants to offer 6 weeks of paid parental leave for all employees, even those who aren’t eligible for FMLA. After the paid 6 weeks, the employee can choose to continue paid leave using any accrued personal leave.

Texas does not have a paid parental leave statute.

If paid leave above what is required is offered for parents, do we also have to provide the same benefit to other employees that are eligible for unpaid leave?

My almost 3 year old loves his crib. It’s pretty a apparent that it makes him feel safe at night. I stupidly did not buy a crib that coverts to a toddler bed and he has no interest in sleeping in his big boy bed. We also need to potty train him.. I know he will continue to wear a diaper at night but I dont like forcing potty all day then Trapped in a cage at night. Am I over thinking this?
