Mine did a Montessori charter school for a few years. We loved it - very kind, supportive, focused on real life skills and the whole child. It was sometimes a struggle for one of my kids who didn’t really want to push himself (ie they were supposed to choose 6-10 “works” to do per day but often he’d only do 1-2). We ended up moving and switching to our neighborhood public school and love that too.

What are works?
We’ve loved our montessori experience. It meets the smaller classes, and is “child-led” — however that may or may not address your need for more rigor or pacing, depending on your child’s MO & the program. May be worth checking a few out to get a feel for the difference!
It also may depend on the age of your child — as there could be a bigger change to navigate in re: schedule / format / ways of interacting if she’s been in a traditional school / program for a while, and I’m not positive how Montessori works for children beyond 3rd grade…
