We are 1/3 the way through tax season!
My dog has been unemployed her entire life. She's been applying to Taco Bell but no interviews yet. Any advice?

Things to do for a weekend in Louisville, KY?
I’m starting as a Manager at one of the big 4 in 3 weeks. I left my tenure track job 4 yrs ago so I’m accustomed to non-academic work but still intimidated. Advice? Will I succeed this first year?
1st Job - 90k…. Is this a good salary? Late to the game at 34. Don’t even know anything about personal finance. Basically feeling like an 18 year old over here with no knowledge of how to run my own life. Having to start over after long term controlling relationship where I was left out of all the finance stuff. So I’m lost TBH. Engineering makes sense, managing my money not so much.
Seeking advice: Thinking about leaving a Fortune 500 to join a start up ~100ppl. They aren’t offering equity but a higher base and a small bonus. Worth the jump without equity? I’m not desperate to leave my company and manage a team. This new role would be an IC but touching way more aspects. Appreciate any advice!
Hi, I am a working in payment compliance ops. I have a team lead experience of 4 yrs. I want to know what upskilling should I do in order to be able to apply for work abroad. I understand mostly technically skilled people get preference. I am sort of clueless here. Need guidance. Thank you
How much can I expect as an analyst at KPMG? I have already accepted their offer letter but am looking to renegotiate.

Hey moms! Anyone tried to follow 12 hours of sleep by 12 weeks old? How was your experience? What age was your child?
I listened to the audio book and can't decide if I should start the training of my 3 months old. Taking cara babies methodology states that it's too early to start any sort of sleep training before 5 months. Thoughts?
Do any of you stay with your current job bc of the flexibility you’ve earned over the years? I’ve been at the same company for ten years and am SO READY to make a change but I’m scared to give up the flexibility.
For example, my 3 and 1 year olds were home with me all week because daycare had to shut down. I did as much as I could, joined calls and met all deadlines but I also stepped away a lot during the day to pay attention to the kiddos. I’m scared if I go somewhere new this wouldnt be ok.
I can’t close my eyes, when I do, I see that young black man on the grown with someone seating on his neck. I am raising a black kid and this keeps me up at night. I am so heartbroken.
Has anyone considered job sharing before?
BURNED OUT MOM! And sad to say it. 😔 I have a 2.5 years old boy and a 6 months old baby girl. The boy is becoming so so stubborn. I feel like his daddy and I are doing something wrong. He used to be way more behaving and generally a sweet boy said the daycare and neighbors. I know he is a good fella. Could this be just a phase?! It's worth mentioning both his dad and I are going through stressful times at work.
Hello everyone!!! I’m so so sorry! I ended up getting called into work early this morning and only now I’m getting a moment! But I’m going to get through your questions and can’t wait to hear from you all!
For new/newer moms- did working from home make a difference when you were pregnant? Does it make a difference for you now (presuming you have some form of childcare while you work)?
EDIT: We just found out we’re pregnant and I’m trying to see if negotiating permanent WFH with a couple of prospective employers is worth it. Not even hybrid appeals to me, tbh
What are people's thoughts on "starting over" with regard to being a bit older and having kiddos?
My partner and I met 3 yrs ago, we're 42 and 44. We both have one child from our previous relationships, his is 19 and mine is 13. We are thinking about having one together but not sure.
Benefits, drawbacks, etc. Anyone have thoughts or experiences to share?
The company I am interviewing with is very slow in progress. It is almost a month now and I still have another round of interview...feeling anxious as I wouldn't able to leave until end of October. I am in public accounting. Is it bad (burning relationships) leaving so close to busy season?
I accepted a new job and I start in early July. I’m still breastfeeding my 6 month old. How do I bring up to my male boss I need lactation breaks every 2 hours? I’m nervous…
Hello moms, I need help for our soon to come baby girls name that will rhyme well with « Dorcas ». I really like the name Dorcas but my husband likes hyphenated names such as xxx-Dorcas or Dorcas-xxx. Any suggestions please?
Taking my almost 8 month old on a flight from LA to NY soon. Any tips? I’m prepared to feed on takeoff and landing but I am actually more nervous about the flight. My LO is very active (he screams bloody murder if he’s in the car seat for more than a half hour, hates his walker/swing etc.) and I’m so scared he won’t be able to sit still. I was thinking of bringing an iPad, but I don’t even know what to give him to watch since I haven’t really been doing screen time. Help!
We are in the process of hiring a nanny to come in from 8am-5pm three days a week while I WFH. What is an appropriate number of paid sick and vacation days we should offer?
Had a bad week. I felt as if I got nothing done. I am the caretaker for my mother, and I have a five-year-old and a truck-driving boyfriend (who is pulls a lot of energy the two days I see him). I’m trying to grow my career and a healthy little girl. Any suggestions on releasing the mental strain.
This is my first time being pregnant and I don’t have anyone around me that is or was pregnant recently. How is the first check up procedure at the OBGYN? Do they do blood work and ultrasound through the belly? Or is it a transvaginal ultrasound? Can you reject a transvaginal ultrasound? I’m excited but extremely overwhelmed and nervous by the whole procedure. Any feedback would help!
How do you combat imposter syndrome especially at work? I grew up in a mentally abusive house where I was never good enough (smart, skinny, pretty,etc.). I’m in therapy and she’s big into positive affirmations but it’s not tackling the little voice in my head that tells me I’m too stupid for the job that I worked for. I’m curious to see what others have done
Recently I had an emergency that required me to leave work around 10am on a Thursday to take my 5 year old son to the ER. I let my manager know he was going to be admitted and I wouldn’t be at work the next day. Friday morning I get a text at 8:05 asking if I’m coming to work. Not, how’s the little one? You guys okay? I never miss work, ever, and this felt like a complete slap in the face. I’ve wanted to quit for a while, but this is the icing on the cake. Should I say something to my manager?
Thought this was a good share.
Anyone else feel like they are terrible at their job and being a terrible mom for working long hours even if the kids are in the next room?
Working moms in advertising - genuine question - what is a (relatively) low stress role in advertising or at an agency / consulting firm? I can’t do always on, high-stress jobs like account / client management anymore and maintain my mental health (I have small kids).
It’s taken a LOT of self honesty to admit this. Maybe I’ll change my mind in the future, but for now, I need a change to be fully present in my personal life and mentally healthy. Thoughts? Ideas? Thank you! 🙏
