Do any of you stay with your current job bc of the flexibility you’ve earned over the years? I’ve been at the same company for ten years and am SO READY to make a change but I’m scared to give up the flexibility.

For example, my 3 and 1 year olds were home with me all week because daycare had to shut down. I did as much as I could, joined calls and met all deadlines but I also stepped away a lot during the day to pay attention to the kiddos. I’m scared if I go somewhere new this wouldnt be ok.

I can’t close my eyes, when I do, I see that young black man on the grown with someone seating on his neck. I am raising a black kid and this keeps me up at night. I am so heartbroken.

BURNED OUT MOM! And sad to say it. 😔 I have a 2.5 years old boy and a 6 months old baby girl. The boy is becoming so so stubborn. I feel like his daddy and I are doing something wrong. He used to be way more behaving and generally a sweet boy said the daycare and neighbors. I know he is a good fella. Could this be just a phase?! It's worth mentioning both his dad and I are going through stressful times at work.

Taking my almost 8 month old on a flight from LA to NY soon. Any tips? I’m prepared to feed on takeoff and landing but I am actually more nervous about the flight. This is my first time being pregnant and I don’t have anyone around me that is or was pregnant recently. How is the first check up procedure at the OBGYN? Do they do blood work and ultrasound through the belly? Or is it a transvaginal ultrasound? Can you reject a transvaginal ultrasound? I’m excited but extremely overwhelmed and nervous by the whole procedure. Any feedback would help!

How do you combat imposter syndrome especially at work? I grew up in a mentally abusive house where I was never good enough (smart, skinny, pretty,etc.). I’m in therapy and she’s big into positive affirmations but it’s not tackling the little voice in my head that tells me I’m too stupid for the job that I worked for. Recently I had an emergency that required me to leave work around 10am on a Thursday to take my 5 year old son to the ER. I let my manager know he was going to be admitted and I wouldn’t be at work the next day. Friday morning I get a text at 8:05 asking if I’m coming to work. Not, how’s the little one? You guys okay? I never miss work, ever, and this felt like a complete slap in the face. I’ve wanted to quit for a while, but this is the icing on the cake. Should I say something to my manager?

Working moms in advertising - genuine question - what is a (relatively) low stress role in advertising or at an agency / consulting firm? I can’t do always on, high-stress jobs like account / client management anymore and maintain my mental health (I have small kids).

It’s taken a LOT of self honesty to admit this. Maybe I’ll change my mind in the future, but for now, I need a change to be fully present in my personal life and mentally healthy. Thoughts? Ideas? Thank you! 🙏
