I don’t know anyone with a confirmed case but a handful who are convinced they had or have it

like

I’ve heard way too many people think they had it in November, which simply isn’t true (since the earliest case in Wuhan were late November). I do think it’s very possible they have it now or had it if it was quite recent. The most annoying thing I’ve come across is people who had a cold for a couple of weeks in the fall, convinced themselves they had it, and now believe it’s not a big deal because it’s just a cold.

Are you in NY?

No. Colorado

One confirmed, and one who had the symptoms this week but wasn’t tested

Advice time. So I’m making 100k roughly and I still live with my parents. Moved back due to COVID as did a lot of people I think? Anyways I want to save $ to buy a house. Should I still be living at home? I was planning on leaving when COVID finally becomes a thing in the past so assuming the summer of 2022 so roughly 8 months from now. I know I am extremely blessed and thankful to god that my parents are kind and allow me this but just want advice please.

We have 5 attorneys (3 partners; 2 associates). Senior associate (who is being promoted to non-equity partner) is pregnant. We don’t have any sort of maternity policy but she will have 3 weeks of PTO to cash in. How do other firms handle cost of insurance premiums while ee is out? We currently cover ee portion and she pays for 100% of dependent cost. Is it reasonable to ask her to write check back to firm for her portion of dependent premiums? Assume she is taking full 4 mos off.

Accepted an offer of employment with a mid-sized firm to begin in a couple of months. I’ve always wanted to shoot for big law but haven’t had the opportunity thus far. Overall, I accepted because I didn’t want to take the opportunity for granted in addition to the uncertainty with hiring due to covid. Would it be an issue to shoot for a big law opportunity in the interim? I know how this looks and sounds, so I definitely don’t want to set a precedent that I deal in bad faith.

Hi ladies! An old chestnut but would still love to hear your advice: i am fairly certain a key senior stakeholder is being difficult because he perceives me as a senior non white woman trying to boss him around. I have heard that he doesn’t like to surround himself with people cleverer than him in fear of them taking over his job, which to me further confirms this is a possibility. What can/should I do?
