Anyone else here actually find auditing enjoyable? Yes, the hours are insane. WLB hasn't been good for me. But I feel like I'm always learning new things on the job even after 6 years. I’m a first generation professional and a bit lost on what path I should take. I’m a senior at Deloitte in the assurance department. I’ll be honest and say that my priority is to make the most money I can in the future and would like to plan according to that priority. I have really good SOX 404 experience. My choices are the following 1) become the lead senior in my public client and stay in assurance 2)FSO 3) Advisory?

What are promotional raises looking like for your firm from associate to senior associate? Apparently GT is only doing a 7% raise (per multiple folks in the GT bowl). In the past, most folks have received at least 15% up to 25% if you exceeded expectations, from what I’ve seen. If other firms are higher, I might consider jumping boats because 7%, even mid pandemic is a slap in the face. Especially for someone who exceeded expectations.

I am currently working for a private bank as an internal auditor with 8 years of experience. I recently got an offer from PwC assurance services for an SM position. In my current role, I have limited opportunities for career progression and promotions are based on years spent rather than personal achievements. The offer is %20 less in terms of salary compared to my current but this role offers professional growth opportunities and chance for abroad experience. Is it illogical to make the change?
