Or to simplify, OP is bored af in this job
Where's the humanity gone! People get tired, its part of life. Why roll them off?
A2 maybe you've never experienced physiological issues like that, but rolling someone off for what you acknowledge may be a medical issue is bullshit. They didn't even say it was during client meetings like calm TF down 🙄 If you can't find any compassion for the situation, then you're not one of the 'Best People' we claim to employ.
Also anyone like A2 who thinks this job is that important is not worth working for, with, or around.
OP this happened to me early in my career. I had low thyroid levels so had unbelievable fatigue. Have yours been checked?
Carry some chocolate in your pockets and use it in head-bob emergencies
Happens to me too. Usually if I have no role. Find a way to get more engaged on the project so the meetings make sense.
@M2 - So just wake them up when the meeting is over and all is well huh? Ummm, no
Well A1, I don't think they said they physically were eyes wide shut asleep. So, Saying they deserve to be rolled off just causes unnecessary anxiety IMHO.
To those who are struggling with this - get your thyroid levels checked if you haven't already! I literally used to want to crawl under my desk and nap in the afternoon. I had no idea why I was so exhausted and chalked it up to getting used to a demanding work schedule. Getting my thyroid levels under control has been a game changer.
Do they need a note taker? Volunteer to take notes, action steps, etc. It can help you pay attention!
I was hoping someone will recommend a drug cocktail....
Do you have ADHD or depression OP? Used to have fatigue so bad I'd clench my jaw the whole day in lectures to stay awake. Brutal.
I pay attention by drinking cold water, doodling, using fidget toys (my favorite is the mini ninny from fidgetland)
I take 1cc test shot weekly. Never tired.
“Problems staying awake in meetings” means either you are dozing off constantly (aka the head bob) or they are actually falling asleep. Not sure how you read that differently tbh
I have this problem daily and was wondering if it was just me. Doesn't matter if it's work or school, even if I'm interested, I often have trouble staying awake at some point during the day if I can't find a way to stay engaged. @A2 it's really not a matter of effort - have tried full sleep, caffeine, etc - and it still happens. It's like trying to suppress hunger.
Get your blood work done and have your iron levels checked out, it can possibly be anemia. The struggle with the same thing and learned that I️ was anemic and once I corrected by iron levels via proper dieting and iron supplements I️ felt a lot better
See a doctor or get a new job. I'd roll you off my projects if you looked tired twice in client meetings. It's not acceptable, you can fix it.

Sounds like you aren’t closely following what’s said. Are you anticipating what the questions and answers will be?
I too yawn a lot in meetings if i go without speaking for extended periods of time
