Would cost me 6-8k, but I don't care. I'm supportive of policies where people deserve not to choose between life saving meds and their kids dinner, as well as a more educated nation.

K1... that’s the effectively the system right now. The networks are so narrow there is no choice. The insurance industry has already forced us in that direction. And right now you are paying for that.

The reaganomics this is funny. Isn't the very argument against Bernie taxing corporations that they won't have money to pay their employees? Just seems like an absurd double standard.

Most of us would get more money back unless you’re already making a big amount of money. I wrote noting that the tax money will go to some things you are already paying for, so you’ll get taxed instead of billed by a private company. I have a decent paying job and supposedly good healthcare and I’m still terrified of going to the hospital in case they hit me with some BS out of pocket costs. I’m unapologetically free health care for all, whether it’s bernie or not.

For what it’s worth, parroting Ben Shapiro as your be all and end all does not make you smart or right.

I’m all for trying anything. It’s better than the garbage heap of a healthcare system that I and most of us drop $25K a year on insurance for. Check what your employer pays on your behalf. I don’t agree with Bernie’s economic theory, but someone needs to scare the different parties in the healthcare industry into giving up the slice of the pie they are hording. People who think our system is great are generally naive idiots who don’t realize everyone short of the 8 digit wealth is one medical mishap from losing everything.

Congress won’t ever pass his plan - he’s gonna hand the house back to the Rs and ensure they keep the Senate.

I wonder what prompted some web developer in Sweden who has no affiliation with PACs or Bernie to make this.

I think the most interesting part is that it is assuming that 4% tax will be enough to cover Medicare for all. That seems utterly unrealistic. Currently $2T out of the $3.6T of healthcare spend is not paid by the government. Total income in the US is roughly $10T (W2, 1099, interest, etc). That gives you 20% in taxes unless he believes that M4A can save $1.6T of private HC costs with no impact to outcomes.

I currently make 80k base. Bernies plan would cost me ~$170/mo (4% over 29k). I currently pay $100/mo for BCBS...I’d actually be fine with paying more here if it’s for the greater good but what’s interesting is it seems that this would actually benefit my employer more than me considering they pay for the majority of my insurance cost...does Bernie’s plan secretly just help big business?

I am in that bucket and paid less by a fair amount. If you live in CA, NJ, or other high tax states, your ability to deduct took a hit so your total tax burden may have taken a hit. I’m saving quite a bit, its going to decrease in savings but I am still coming out better.
