Make sure you are fully awake with a clear head before you exit your room, stretch, breathe, read, maybe even change out of your pajamas! Also make it a rule that the kids don’t come into the room in the morning so you don’t start off annoyed with them.

The answer is cognitive behavioral therapy. Please don't act like that to your kids; it has a lasting and damaging effect on them. I speak from experience on behalf of myself and three siblings who have no relationship with one parent.

I thought I was the only one who wants to be just alone in the morning. Need some minimum amount of time before I can talk to anyone.
I sense you might be feeling guilty about how you are handling morning situations. Maybe start by apologizing to your kids when you catch yourself snapping at them and then identify what you want your reaction to be next time. Being open that you are working on this might help make it a group effort and it shows your kids how to make personal improvements. Your kids may even have ideas as to how to help you. Mornings are tough, so please be kind to yourself. 😊
Is their a reason for this? Think deeply. Is it because you have to wake up to what you think is a terrible job, wife, or kids, or a combo of items, etc? Are you snapping at anybody else , besides your kids? When did this start? when in college or an event that happens that reminds of you of something. The reason I’m asking is because their are potentially a lot of possibilities here. Seek help internally within yourself first. Think deeply as to why? If not able to find reasons, seek help outside. You have already diagnosed the effect which is a major first step, now find the cause. GOod Luck
