Why not? 9-5, decent pay, stable, opportunity to switch roles every 2-3 years, no travel. I want it

Eww why

I think a lot of what’s posted is false advertising - they often have someone internal lined up for the job and the public posting is a formality. So they’ll word it in a way that no matter how great you are, they’ll be able to show their internal person is better (/cheaper).
I even had them as a client, got referred by an SVP, and still got rejected! 🤦‍♀️ so frustrating. I think you need to be a bit patient and apply for a tonne to find a ‘real’ opportunity.

like

This is actually a true process. During restructuring projects, they have to put some positions out to "bid" aka public posting. Although the incumbent candidate does have to apply and prove qualifications, it's definitely easier for a known quantity/internal candidate to prove it than market external candidate.

Have you been keeping track of news lately...

like

Yeah, that sounds pretty good. Just curious.

network is probably going to be the biggest asset here

Thanks D1! Do you know how helpful internal referrals are?

Thanks D1! Will send you a DM shortly

Incredible benefits too

Rutgers alumni seem to have an easier way in, if you have any connection to that school. Or if you have any afflictions to professional groups, they occasionally sponsor sessions, meet and greets, etc.

Do you not have any referral option

I do. Got one a few months ago to no avail :/

Outside of FAANG, what are good large CA-based tech companies that provide good pay, WLB, and culture? DD has great people and WLB, but pay is low and you’re not given the tools and resources to succeed + truly make an impact. Google and Apple are ideal but need backups. Like is Salesforce still good? A company along those lines.
