Anyone have tips on surviving when you're really struggling? I can barely get out of bed. My client work is slipping, just got taken off a PRD (with my coach) for being flaky. I My visa situation is unknown, I'm recovering from recent assault. I wrecked my relationship with my coach (who is generally great). feel defeated & like I can't breath. Haven't seen fam in over 2 years, I'm barely surviving and now i'm not good at my job. I almost don't want to exist..

I think you need to really intervene in this situation. I would seek therapy and potentially medication to try to pull yourself out of this. You may want to be honest with your coach and others in your life about what you’re going through so that they aren’t left to wonder, and you may also want to take a short leave of absence. It sounds like this is serious and you could use some time to sort out what you need to do to take care of yourself.

There is only one way to survive - self love. That means living in the present, that means making decisions that will have the best outcome for YOU. That means investing in your well being. That means not deriving your worth or happiness based on social norms or achievements at work. Find your deeper true self. You are not your thoughts. Healing will take time as there is no magic switch. Start by meeting a therapist who can really work with you to help you tackle the negative thoughts. Start a meditation practise to train yourself to live in the present. Start a journaling practise to process negative thoughts in a safe environment. Start an exercise regimen to get fitter. Here is something actionable that you can do immediately - make a list of everything in your life that you are grateful for that some other fellow humans don’t have. I know it’s very difficult to do it given what you are going through but still do it. Write it down, don’t think about it. Then read it to yourself.

True. I had the same experience last year and what really helped was compassion and acceptance. Everything else was like putting a bandaid on a fracture. Now I am doing much better. I have accepted reality and stopped the needless psychological resistance to what is.

Also, I forgot to add- I am so sorry that you’re going through this and I can relate completely. I promise there are better things on the other side of this if you will take the necessary steps to care for yourself.

We had an important project stakeholders meeting for which I prepared a presentation, delivered the presentation and answered some difficult questions in the Q&A. I ensured a few of the stakeholders that I'd follow up with some interesting links.

What are your thoughts about having to take an iq/personality assessment tests? It seems so outdated to me. I don’t think it predicts how you will truly perform at a job. I took a test like this for a startup once and they were concerned about my ability to speak up or behave in social settings. This was completely false. So I have completely lost interest in my area of practice mainly because I haven’t been exposed to many matters (our team is really slow) and I am the most junior in the team. So billable work is never constant. I feel like this has impacted my interest and stagnated my growth. I am thinking of moving into a different area of practice that I’m interested in. Okay soooo I have an adult 8 year old Maltese. I have tried everything from Farmers dog to Caesar. Mixing wet and dry...putting toppers on. I kinda got him to eat out of my hand. I work at a big med tech company as product manager. I have multiple markets under my responsibility. I am turning 30 in few weeks and I hold an MBA.
Currently I am earning 73k gross yearly in Belgium. I feel that I settled for less than what this role could have given. What should I do? Is this a good average salary for product managers? I need to negotiate a raise but manager is greedy and difficult

How much would a 30 day supply of Vyvanse (30mg) cost me after insurance? I know this is going to vary by plan but I'm still curious as to know how expensive of a medication this is.

My pharmacy informed me that the insurance will not cover without authorization from the psych. My psych was wary about this & instead suggested Ritalin during my session. Does anyone have a terminally ill partner/spouse with no immediate family to help care for them as they continually get worse? How do you manage to work (and travel) with so much on your mind?

Getting to the point where some days I completely shut down. Cry in the bathroom at work. Can’t do anything. Next day I can manage it all pretty well. Im under a tremendous amount of pressure (working 2+ roles) with no leadership and minimal help. I’m really good at hiding/covering up my emotions so I’m sure no one knows. I just can’t imagine going through this cycle much longer. Not emotionally stable enough to even think about interviewing.

So my bipolar dad got declined for a mortgage because disability gets shut off in < 3 years when he turns 65. So now he wants me to co-sign for him. Between housing markets being up, my concerns over his money mgmt, and concerns over tying up my credit there’s no way I can say yes. He sold his house before being approved for the new one he put in for (against my advice). I know he won’t understand and will take this personally, and the family will probably take his side. I just have to say that signing up for therapy (and finding my current therapist) was one of the best decisions I made in my life. I’m learning a lot about myself and how to live a happier life.
