Hi all, as a Talent Acquisition Partner that is looking to start expending my Professional education, would you recommend pursuing SHRM-CP certification?
Hello! I am an HR Coordinator at a nonprofit in Michigan! We are a growing company and I want to suggest to my boss and other higher ups within the company we create a employee morale committee. How would one go about creating a case for that? Like in my mind a group of people from the company would get together a few times a month and create fun things for our employees. Also maybe even create diversity and inclusion things as well. Thank you for any advice.
I am looking to make a career change to HR. I currently make 75K as a sales and development coach. I had a recent offer for a state government position in a talent acquisition role but I’d be taking a $25K pay cut. I am extremely over qualified for the position but it could possibly be a stepping stone and gives me the time to acquire SHRM certifications and possibly start taking classes to get my MBA. My question is those currently in an HR role, would this move make sense to you?
I’m an HR Mgr, and need help approaching my HRC about her demeanor at work. She lost her father last fall, and since returning to work, she’s become incredibly delicate. Often cries at work, staff are hesitant to approach her; it’s like walking on eggshells constantly with her. She does her job well, she takes directions well, but there is no real initiative with projects/tasks and I NEED a strong no.2 - I feel like I’m constantly coaching her and trying to support her, but I’m tired 😣
I found a new job (huzzah!) and turned in my 2 weeks notice yesterday. But I started feeling crummy last night and went to the doctor for a COVID test today. Lab results already came back positive. So now I feel super guilty about basically calling in sick to my last two weeks of work...should I try and push out my start date to help out current employer? Feel like current supervisor is going to throw a hissy fit.
Idk what’s going on but the level of unprofessionalism with recruiters has reached a new level, and I’m interviewing at all large truly top firms - J&J, Deloitte, Meta/Facebook, McKinsey, etc. really bad all around
Story Time: We had a team member quit this morning without notice. When the management team asked why he was being so unprofessional and not giving two weeks' notice. The team member’s response was, “would you give me two weeks' notice before firing me”? No one knew how to respond to this.
Can anyone share any good questions to ask during the interview round to identify red flags around culture, management, growth etc.?
What is the SHRM and is it even worth it to get?
What KPIs do you give upper management to set hiring expectations for senior tech talent? What tools do you use to calculate/track applicants vs recruiters screens and submissions vs HM interviews which lead to offers?
I had a company offer me a position under the original range and after I’ve turned down the role multiple times they have come back with an offer with a better title and $30k more. This huge shift put a bad taste in my mouth, but wasn’t sure if I was begin too critical because I wouldn’t operate that way as a recruiter.
Hi fishes, I need some career advice. I have an MBA in HRM And I am currently working in L&D however over the past year I have been trying to get into Analytics just because I thought it will fit more with my lifestyle (I need a job that can be done remotely and not much communication because of timezones differences) however my husband and I keep noticing that HR is my passion but I already feel too invested in Analytics. I don’t know what to do, I would like to combine HR&tech but I need sugge
recently we were acquired by a public company. The husband and wife who started the company gave their daughter a pay raise and a huge jump in her job title. She has minimal experience and is very under qualified for her job. Many employees are very upset about her sudden promotion with lack of experience and are coming to me upset. They also gave her full admin capability in our HRIS system with access to PII and confidential information, she is not in HR and no other directors have
Getting frustrated that I can't even land a job interview. I'm a recruiter with 5 years of experience in agency looking for a remote opportunity in Europe... I have an interview coming up for a HR role with Honeywell. Can you all provide tips for interview preparation?
Thoughts on PHR/SPHR/SHRM-CP certs? I have approximately 9 years of HR exp and my bachelors and MBA. Been debating on whether or not I need to fulfill my urge to get a certification. Wanted to get some thoughts around whether you have a similar background and opted to or opted to not get their certification? Thanks!
Hi everyone! I’m in the market for a fully remote or hybrid HR coordinator/Specialist or People Operations Coordinator position, ideally with a big company. I’m currently in grad school obtaining my Masters in HRM, planning to take the SHRM within a year.
I recently got laid off and am really grateful to have received a job offer pretty quickly. It’s for an outsourced HR company where I would be HR/Payroll Manager for about 10 small to mid-size clients. Curious people’s thoughts on if this would be a step back career wise? I worry not working for a dedicated company could hurt my resume. My job titles before this were HR Business Partner, Recruiting Operations Lead and HR Specialist.
I’m looking to carve out my career in HR. I have 2 years in a dedicated HR Coordinator role (essentially with Generalist duties) and 5+ years in senior level hospitality management. I’m interested in getting my PHR or getting a certificate in data analytics with business/HR focus. Thoughts on next steps?
