Anyone have undesirable side effects from the meds that you take for depression or anxiety? How do you cope with them? For me, the side effects are the lesser of two evils, because the meds themselves are working for me.
I take Bupropion (Wellbutrin), and is effective in helping me with my depression, but the side effect that I experience, memory issues, is pronounced and bothersome. My psychiatrist and I tried reducing my dosage, and it lessened the side effect, but it became quite clear that I needed to revert to my normal dosage to address my depression.
At one point we tried a "cocktail" by adding a small dose of Abilify, but that med was disastrous for me, and I needed to curtail it for my own well being (YMMV).
Yeah I take Vyvanse for ADHD and it definitely helps me focus but also makes me feel disgusted at food, and coming off of it usually makes me feel depressed. I don't take it much for that reason. Luckily, I kind of take it infrequently when I know I'll need it.
Not a perfect solution, but I'd rather deal with lack of focus because work right now doesn't require as much. Not sure what I'll do if that changes
I was on lexapro and was constantly zoning out & not finishing thoughts. I also had cold sweats all over my body for weeks..I ended up weaning myself off because I couldn't take it anymore and now just try to control my feelings and work on fitness, sleep and diet.
I'm not medical professional and this is not medical advise but I wanted to ask if you have ever tried ketamine infusions it is life saving for some people recovery in depression is possible some time non traditional ways help
Thanks D1. I have read some articles recently on Ketamine as a potential treatment for depression. It certainly looks interesting. I'm my case, I do not have treatment-resistant depression, it's just that I don't like dealing with the memory issues that I face with Bupropion. I am reluctant to try something different, however, because Bupropion has helped me for years, and I had a very bad experience when I tried Abilify.
75 mg Effexor, 37.5 vyvanse. Been working for several years. SSRIs didn't seem to work as well for me as SNRI, so you might explore going from one class to another.
