Would love to know - do you guys typically see a big difference between Solutions Consultants versus Solutions Engineers? Inherently one sounds more technical than the other, but would love your take.

Additionally, what typical career paths do you see for SC/SEs to grow into? Ideally a path that leads to a lot of money (currently making just south of $200k)

How do you transition from big 4 consulting to big law? My clients are all funds, and I do international tax consulting. I have used my connections to refer me into probably 10 big law firms and it’s not working. One most recently came back and said they aren’t interested bc I have no law firm experience. How am I supposed to get it though? I can’t go to lower ranked firms bc my clients are all “big.” … any suggestions appreciated!

Do you take down call notes directly on the draft or in a standalone doc? I prefer the former since it’s way easier for me to refer and amend after, but a senior who subsequently asked for the notes seems annoyed at the format. These notes were intended for my own reference purposes only…

I feel like I am so inexperienced in my job that everything takes so long to complete and get used to. Hence, I constantly feel guilty that I am spending a lot of time on my tasks and I am not adding enough value especially given the cost that clients pay for our time. I also fear that most of my time will get written off at the end of the day by the matter managers. Is this feeling normal and does it go away?

For the junior associates out there, I’m a 2020 call and am convinced that I’m taking a lot of time while working on deals.
