Anyone here caught both the original covid as well as the UK strain? How different did you feel between the two?

Even though there have been multiple strains (even before the UK one) extremely few people have had multiple infections so you’re not likely to get a first-hand answer to this very narrow question. The UK strain is expected to dominate in the US by mid-spring.

It’s still fairly early in the spread of the new strain, but your concern is well-founded.

This happened to a former colleague of mine. From her day-to-day accounts of it online, it seemed near identical for her, but her husband had a worse go of it with the UK strain. She posted a video of him breathing and it still haunts me today. Could have also been the fact that his body might’ve still been undergoing residual effects from the first time. They had it around June and then again in November. Both in their early to mid 30s. They have both recovered well since though.

Because in the 5 days before symptoms started showing, that was the only time we left the house and prior to those 5 days, we shared a meal with another couple (who we trust) and they both were negative when tested while my wife and I were both positive. Again, I’m not 100% sure, but that seems to be the only likely explanation given there was a line of ppl at CVS waiting for their shots.

You can get both? I was under the impression one would bring immunity

Unsure means there hasn’t been a peer-reviewed study, since it’s so new. All indications are that it will be effective, however.

I assume I had the UK (I live in London) one and had a fever for a week but other than that I felt fine. My sense of taste and smell haven’t returned yet though and it’s been almost month.

Two friends have had both. Very mild symptoms from Uk strain but they had that second so may be because of partial immunity?

What do you do when small local firms won’t give your resume the time of day, but everyone you ask for resume feedback on says your materials are fine? These aren’t big law or boutiques, we’re talking probably paying $20-30 an hour part time as an associate with firms of 1-3 attorneys generally. I know biglaw is recovering from COVID but has it really hurt small law so badly getting an interview is next to impossible? Any and every practice area. Work is work. Hi! I’m not sure if this is the right question but I’d like to be fitter. I’m 230lb and 5’8 so it’s really bad. Because of covid I haven’t gone to the gym, I have 2 weights at home. Any recommendations on workouts from home? Running or jogging hurts like hell so I’ve been trying to walk at least 5 miles per day, some push-ups and sit-ups. I have watched a few videos online as well. Thank you guys

Good Evening My Fellow Christian Educators! I realize it is going to be challenging for me this year...with so many of my students performing below grade level expectations in ELA and MATH and also ensuring that all students follow the COVID Guidelines in the classroom. I still feel hopeful that God will bless me with the knowledge on how to effectively impact each one of those kids. Let's remember to keep all educators lifted in prayer this year. Have a wonderful school year!! God Bless All❤️

What type of self help strategies do individuals actually find helpful when you feel burn out or stuck in a rut? Any books, apps, meditation, podcasts, etc, others find helpful? I've done therapy and it has definitely helped this past year with covid and a marriage separation, starting to feel like I'm making progress and want to keep up the momentum. Looking to see what type of self help others find actually beneficial and would love to use that to help others stuck in burn out too

My professional life at the moment is far from ideal. I’ve been on quarantine (long story, but a good one) for the last seven years. Royalties from my books don’t pay the bills. My entrepreneurial pursuits remain hampered. For the interim, I’ve been looking for a remote opportunity where I can leverage my skills in marketing, sales, social media, and elsewhere for a decent sum. I have a social media presence which, in recent years, reached millions. There has to be something exciting I can do.
