I’ve been ranked the highest I could be since I started at the firm. Went on leave a few months ago (promotion year) and was told that I wasn’t promoted because the “timing wasn’t right.” Needless to say I did not return.

like

And then when I quit they were like “but you were so close to promotion?” Uh, yeah, I know. Lol

like

Raises and bonuses yes. I even have gotten raises and bonuses while actively on maternity leave.

Did you find out you comp increase while on leave or after you returned from leave?

like

Yes, I’m pretty sure they wanted to make sure and promote me to manager before I went on leave because they were worried I might look at different options while on leave.

Yes, yes and yes

Use but it was contingent on getting new licenses while on maternity leave and raise didn’t kick in until I returned. I turned them down. Didn’t have energy or time to study with a literal newborn

like

We don't do bonuses but yes to the other two.

like

Yes.

Yes, promotion while on leave, plus bonus and 40% raise and an additional bonus at the end of leave

like

That is amazing! Congratulations!

Got promoted to manager a month BEFORE coming back from a six month maternity leave.

like

Yes. Promotion, raises, bonuses. Not at my current company but previously.

like

I was passed up for manager promotion the year I went on leave even though I had great reviews. Got it the year after though.

like

Yes and yes. I got promoted to SM two months after returning from my first maternity leave; and got promoted to director while I was on my second maternity leave.

like

Yes - promo, raise and bonus

like

Yes. But salary frozen at pre-raise number due to disability. Did not get my new salary until I came off of disability. Firm never made it up to me.

like

Yes, promoted in January, baby in August

like

Yes, promo and bonus and raise 2 months after I got back from mat leave

like

Yes and yes!

like

Got passed over for mid-year bonus because I went on maternity leave just at the same time. Apparently it’s for folks ar risk of leaving which I am not !

like

Yes yes yes

like

I got promoted while on maternity leave! That came with a raise.

I am taking another sick day this coming Monday. It's necessary for both my physical and mental health, which are severely compromised due to the stress of this insane school year (and the last one, and the spring before that -- I think this is cumulative with COVID, the political situation, etc.). I have never taken this many sick days during ANY school year in my 20+ years of teaching. Is anyone else experiencing this? Is anyone else having anxiety about taking so many days off?
