What’s that salary website that members post here on occasion for more accurate salary data from companies like FAANG Mbb big 4 and IB? Not glassdoor, not paysa, payscale, it’s not as well known
Is moving from MBB to FAANG non tech roles (strategy & ops) worth it? How is the career progression?
African/Black F; 3.7 GPA from HYP; 2 years at MBB; 2 years at FAANG; haven’t done GMAT, but aiming for 730+; education- related extracurriculars in my home country— what are my chances at HSW or M7?
Have any 🐠 here left S& for MBB at the post-MBA level? I’d like to talk through the differences and adjustments in ways of working you had to make after the jump
Folks who moved from MBB to a top-tier tech firm (E.g. FAANG): how does the talent compare between the two?
Are people who get sponsored for MBA by MBB expected to return post-MBA? Can you intern at a non-consulting company during your summer internship? Do you burn bridges if you do not return to MBB?
I will be recruiting for MBB next fall during my MBA program. I am looking for more info on what projects are really like, culture at your firms, why you choose it, and how it stands out. Thanks!
After your first job, how relevant is GPA. For context, I went to a school that is very well known for grade deflation (Deloitte had a “suggested” minimum of 3.2 here) and I studied statistics, a particularly rough major at the school. Long story short, GPA was between a 2.9 and 3.0. This wasn’t due to slacking and I’ve done well at Deloitte so far with plenty of experience to speak to. Would my GPA still block me from certain firms, like any of the MBB firms or a Tier 2 consulting firm?
Significant other is active duty marine corps and while I have 10 years of experience, having a tough time “making the right moves” to climb the ranks in consulting due to needing to (or at least needing to be available to) relocate every few years. Anyone willing to chat? Looking to get into MBB if possible. Prior big 4 exp and worked across human capital, tech, and some S&O. Super hard working and quick learner. McKinsey & Company Bain & Company Boston Consulting Group
I’m a non-traditional UG student veteran at Yale University w/10 YoE in the intel community, 1YoE contracting for a 3 letter agency and had an IB internship with an NY-based BB last year (received FT offer but turned it down for family reasons). Graduate in May ‘22 & major in poly sci. Applying for FT roles with MBB this summer and am wondering if anyone had any advise on other consulting firms worth applying to? I’m sure I’m overlooking some firms & Yale CS hasn’t been very helpful. Thank you!
How is the financial services consulting different across MBB? In terms of service offerings, areas of focus, culture
Is to possible for those counselled out from MBB to make their way back? Particularly at the junior level, so counselled out as an analyst then boomerang back at the consultant level
Would anyone be willing to chat who made the jump from big 4 —> tech —> MBB? I did not have a great experience in tech and looking to pivot back into consulting. Went to a non-target undergrad but 10 YOE at good firms.
Currently work at AWS in Business Intelligence and am looking to transfer into Product Management. Looking at MBB eventually. In my experience, most people from MBB have FAANG as their exit op. Why?
Anyone know a ballpark Mbb acceptance rate into HBS? Is it actually that much easier getting in from mck?
Big4/ACN consultant -> MBB Consultant/Associate I was wondering if I get promoted to a consultant from an analyst/BA at one of these firms above, can I lateral to MBB as an Associate or Consultant? Or would I need to start over again as AC/BA or get my MBA. I’d much rather get my MBA thru sponsorship and MBBs seem to have a better package for grad school compared to other firms.
Has anyone has experience with a firm's outplacement services? At MBB maybe? Worth it or not? Thanks!
Coming from tech, $500k TC. What level at MBB pays this much? Feeling the itch to get back on the road again.
Was anyone able to receive a NIE letter from Deloitte for visa stamping purposes? If yes, please help me with the process.
Hear me out. We’re living in the residual days of advertising power. Back in the day, if you worked in advertising, you very much shaped culture. Advertising creatives shared the airwaves with only the likes of Hollywood and national news. There were only so many pipes into culture and advertising was a big one. But today, the pipes are democratized. Random teens on TikTok are having more impact on culture than Mad Ave. And yet, so much ego and self importance remains.
Planning to do a PRM or FRM qual. How useful is it to move from Big 4 Risk and reg consulting to industry? Finding it hard to get anything other than non-PM roles
How do you use all those pillows provided on your hotel bed? Any recommended strategies?
On maternity leave but am realizing I need to move home to be closer with family. What happens if I quit Deloitte despite owing 30 days upon return? What is the penalty?

Is it terrible to expense all 4 parts and exam fee for the CPA exam before my last official day (as I'm one of the unlucky ones to be laid off )?
Corp Strat at a Fortune 50 or MBB? I'm not at a MBB. I don't think i'd stay for partner at MBB the only benefit I could see is coming back to a F50 firm at a higher position and paygrade.

I was just offered a promotion to Sr Strategy Analyst and I’d like to negotiate the base comp from $109 to $116 at least. I would love to hear how others have navigated this conversation. My points are: 1. I have both supply- and demand- side experience. 2. I have a proven record of dedication to the company w/ examples. (This is a leadership rotational program so it shows I’m invested in the company.) 3. I didn’t rec a raise in 2020 bc Covid so at a normal rate I would be making ...
Leaving Deloitte after 9 months (first job out of college) for a 75% salary increase at a startup! Woohoo!!
Pregnant with verbal job offer - how to negotiate maternity leave? I am only a few weeks pregnant and I have a great job offer. There are two points I want movement on (1) equity (2) maternity leave. The company offers new employees with <1 year tenure 14-16 weeks unpaid mat leave (+ whatever I get from CA state short term disability program which is less than half my salary). This is a 300+ person unicorn company that is really excited about me. What’s worth pushing for here?
