I applied to a separate Dept some years ago and had to take a kinda crazy standardized test. My understanding is it's company-wide. It basically seem to be testing IQ/Analytical chops and then another section of work-style/interpersonal dilemmas.
As someone who normally rocks tests, I found this one crazy hard, especially the way it's timed. My application was rejected and you can't re-test for like a year.
Researching later, some folks indicated they only take the top 1% of applicants, which is a bit surprising. I've met quite a few P&G'ers, and they are by and large sharp overachievers, but never struck me as geniuses. One bit of advice someone shared on the personality test that may be helpful: answer like Ned Flanders.
Might want to tag the company for more eyeballs.
I grew up in Cincy and worked on a number of campaigns as a freelancer so lots of P&G stories.
Post-digital, everywhere is kinda crazy, but their rep growing up is it's a solid gig as far as security. The stock options are also generous. It seems to have that buttoned-down, follow-the-process culture, like a bank. Possibly a bit stuffy. If you want to move fast and break things, maybe not the right fit.
But everyone seems super conscientious and fairly sharp.
A number of people exit to start their own thing, sometimes selling back to P&G, so there's that.
I worked for P&G in Latam. Indeed super hard to get in. But the culture is frustrating, it's very hard to get fired and they used to let people "grow from within" so there is a lot of lazy people around and it's hard to implement change sometimes. There is also a lot of politics and it did not feel very meritocratic to me.
Thank you for sharing your experience. For people who aren't lazy, what does growth look like?
