Anyone here familiar with the culture at Snap? It seems like they're trying to expand the legal team, and curious to know what it's like there.

Never ever go there. Terrible for minorities, really bad morale in the legal team ever since the second GC took over for the first GC, and they have been bleeding their best talent ever since. The only thing that was positive was that WLB improved a bit because people figured it out it was worth working their asses off.

It goes all the way up to the GC LOL. But feel free to DM me with details if you are in process there.

What is your legal department’s structure? It’s time that I restructure my department of 4, about to take on two new hires and I need inspiration. Does the commercial vs corporate structure work? Do you have dedicated legal ops and what do they focus on? What are your tiers and qualifications for each? Does everyone work on the sell side? Applying for some in-house M&A jobs, and a big focus is being able to run deals. I of course feel very comfortable running deals from the corporate side and managing multiple teams, but have obviously always had an army of specialists in biglaw. How does this work in house? I’m primarily thinking from a tax perspective — I likely wouldn’t be able to structure a deal (and don’t think many of my peers could either) since we always rely on a tax team, but not sure if that is an expectation.

I need some in house opinion here. I’m currently a litigator working to move in house. I wanted some reference for time frame or if I’m being strung along. Got into specifics like salary, package, even what office I might work from since they have so many. I didn’t hear from them thru March, sent a quick email to company talent acquisition person mid April.
