So I have a tricky situation and need some advice. Long story short, one of my best friends was offered a role that I personally really like. She was promised Director level and when offer came through it was manager, so she declined and was pretty salty about it. Is it awkward if I apply for the role? How should I approach it with my friend?

I need your thoughts! I’m a product manager working for small online therapy business that has been in industry for almost 20 years and make 75k! Just got promoted from APM to PM a month ago and was told to get a raise but nothing happened yet!
Last week just got an offer from a startup that was found in 2019 and have only 10 employees with their platform outsourced to a third party in an e-learning industry! The offer is 120k! What would you do? Would you accept it?

In a startup, I'm currently managing two different projects: 1 as a scrum master and Project Manager, other as a Product owner reporting to the CEO. I have 4 yrs exp in dev+lead and 1year as PM. I'm kinda lost on which path to pursue. scrum master or product owner? I'm looking for other opportunities elsewhere. Would be great to hear any insights from the experienced seniors!

For context, I’ve joined a series A start up and as expected there’s a lot to do and it’s very fluid. This is the week where I feel like I’m about to get crushed. Launching a new version of a product and we’re trying to get it ready for use by a customer but we’re behind schedule. Launching a new feature on another product for another customer but we’re getting a lot of bugs and we have a week to ship. Drowning and stressed out.

Those who used to be PMs but no longer are, what are you doing now? And what made you transition?

Any other hiring managers feeling like all of your candidates are asking for more money last minute just to see how far they can go? Like if we say the range is 110-130K, they say they’re looking for 135K, you offer 135K and then they say they won’t take the job for less than 150? Not even with competing offers. It’s hard for me to stay excited about wanting to work with someone when they do that. What a waste of everyone’s time.

I have about 15 years of experience in tech with 2 years as head of product in a startup. I'm trying to find a new leadership role which is proving to be very difficult. My applications seem to get rejected because I don't meet the "minimum X number of years in product" requirement. I feel confident about leading a product team and believe that I have a unique blend of skills which can be applied effectively to build successful products. Any suggestions on how I could land more interviews?

I thought I knew the difference between Product Management and Product Operations but recently speaking to someone in my org has confused me because they seem to be so redundant.

What salary increase is expected when you go from individual contributor to managing another person(s)? I was given an opportunity to start managing people but with no discussion of added benefits, so I would like to have a conversation about it with realistic expectations.
