Therapy is cheaper (most times) and I think they tend to get to the core of your thought patterns, personal struggles and values.
As in everything there is a big variety of results. When working with a coach my advice is always to find someone that you resonate with (you can feel it in the first session if you do not like it at first, no point in continuing). Also look for someone that specializes in the topic that you want to work on. Be clear on what specifically you want to improve in your life and look for someone who works with people like you and has a system to help you tack the issue you want to solve. If a coach works with everyone and tons of different topics, is harder to be efficient. For instance, I mostly work with high performance leaders who feel stuck, that they do not have the energy and motivation they had before but they want to keep growing and defying themselves and they need support to organize their thoughts to define what do they want and how to do it.
Not a life coach, but a career / exec coach. Although sometimes I feel we are going beyond just work and hitting on some “life” elements.
Extremely helpful - still working with my coach to do this day.
Just be sure to be thoughtful about the “fit” with your coach and stay away from folks that want to charge you thousands of dollars or lock you into some “program.” I talked to a few coaches that wanted $12,000 for 6 months. Ended up finding my coach through a platform with vetted / certified coaches and the subscription is like $100 / month.
