How can those who have been trying to get a foot in tech for months, stand against those who are being laid off that recruiters are scrambling to help?? I understand these people have prestigious companies on their resumes, severance packages, and a wide network of connects. It is very sad to hear, but realistically, they won’t have trouble finding a job. But what are the rest of us supposed to do who have been trying for months to be given a chance but are now getting pushed even further back😕

I’m in the IT field, I’ve worked as a Network Admin for 4 years Tech Support Specialist for 2 years and am currently a IT Specialist (contractor) it’s been around 6 mo, could anyone tell me is there a way to figure out what I should be making (like where should I be in the pay scale) I’ve managed teams and little projects here and there but I am wondering what should be my next position that I go after and what I should be asking for my current position when they offer me something.

I graduate with my Masters degree in statistics in a couple months. Should I expect/ask for a raise because of that?
