Anyone here hiring for an SDET/QA Engineer?

Is it me or does it seem like companies are hiring but not really hiring? For example, you wasted all of that time going through the interview process, completed it, and then they’re putting the position on hold or you had a great interview, they tell you had a great interview, the interviews like you, you had a great answers but they didn’t select you due to “business needs/growth/direction of the company.”

May soon have an offer for in-house TA coordinator role but also and an entry level agency recruiter position, contemplating which is most suitable.
Any advice on how to identify which is best? Would love to hear from those whom have done both sides of the coin but also everyone else!

Doing a remote interview tomorrow for an in-house position that I really want. Invite says "[company] is a startup, so a full suit is not necessary! Business casual attire is recommended." Like I said, I really want this job, and the idea of not wearing a suit is just weird to me

Should I still wear the suit or would it be counter productive?

Best little did gig for an extra grand a month? I currently work a full time job making about 3k a month, flash tattoos averaging about 400-700 a month. I just quit a security gig that was an extra 300 a month but that’s because it had me working overnights on Saturdays when I normally got 7am to 4pm Monday through Friday. It messed with me too much. I’m an FA within the bank channel and have made the mistake of leaving my first firm to go to another. bank program that ended up failing and sold our books to another firm. It’s become harder and harder to grow a book now within the bank channel because of Reg BI and it’s going to take me a decade to grow my book to where I want to be. I’m a CFP and finishing up my MBA. I’m thinking of going to another area of Finance all together like PE. Any suggestions for me? NOT looking to go Independent.

I was working with a partner on drafting a brief, who hated the way I wrote it, made me drastically change everything, increase the word count and spill my blood, sweat, and tears for months into editing it. Just before filing a different partner took a hand at cutting it down because it was too long - and he edited the brief back to the way I wrote it originally 🤦🏽‍♀️ Sometimes this job is an absolute joke.

I am a Reliability Maintenance 3P contractor for Amazon. I graduated with my Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering on June 2022. I’ve been working with Amazon for a year, but there’s a lack of prospective EE positions within the company. The job postings I see are either less or barely above my current salary. Career advice?

I'm a relatively junior data engineer (2yoe), the only other engineer (senior) that trained me left about a 6 months ago and I negotiated a nice raise for the extra responsibilities.

My performance reviews have been stellar, but my manager is starting to look to hire a senior to help me deliver projects as we do lack capacity right now.

I feel like I might be missing an opportunity to ask for a promotion and hire a junior instead.

Any opinions/tips?

How does contract to hire work? If I’m offered $37/hr on w2 for 3 months and then possibly a permanent position, how much can I expect to get annually as a full time company employee as a BI data analyst II? I have a M.S. and certificates in DA but this will be my first job as DA.
I prefer working for what is offered on contract without negotiating, and then negotiate when I transition into the company itself so I have a better chance of getting the contract position and show my skills.
