In the past month, I have gone through 7 interviews at a start up company, including the CEO, who wanted to talk “as soon as possible”.
Kept mentioning my “impressive resume” & “great accomplishments”, & I got the feeling he felt I was overqualified. The kicker was when he said “you realize this is an individual contributor” after I said I knew this job was to build out a function not currently anywhere in the company. Radio silence since.

Base is 60k OTE 85k, but 120% commission cap. I support 10 AEs whose base is 55k. I have 13 years experience in my field, including 5 working in the position of my now prospects. Closed dozens of deals at trade shows, created/presented virtual and in-person seminars, create onboarding and scripts for the reps I support as a SE and am required to be on majority of demos across all time zones. I know I’m getting screwed, but how bad?

I enjoy the work I'm doing now but I'm still so new to my career that I can't help but be curious about working in PR for fields like entertainment or consumer. FWIW, my internships were all fashion PR and I didn't think I'd be in tech.
