Weird question- or confessional (unsure tbh)- do any of you ever play hooky? I billed all weekend (7 year atty in ID) and today is wicked weather in the south so I’m “wfh” but not really. I didn’t have time for Sunday scaries but now I’m having Monday guilts, as I cope by watching my dogs sleep and watch the GOT prequel out of the corner of my eye while going through emails. It’s not a monthly thing but I’m just tired. Thinking it speaks to my immaturity and hopefully not my job trajectory?

Is Accenture strategy hiring ? I am done with HR round last week but not yet received offer letter and i am not sure if they have kept on hold. Verbal offer is however communicated on Friday and status shows offer initiated.

I am currently in the process of the leaving the firm and was told after giving my 2 weeks notice that managers are required to give 4 weeks per the contract signed upon promotion. I recently graduated from a data science program and am looking to get some experience in the form of an internship. I had been working full-time as a teacher while also studying full-time so my portfolio isn’t the greatest. My question is, coming from a career that isn’t in tech and with little experience how can I make myself stand out more? More personal projects? More certifications? I’m hoping to get one before the summer.

Started a freelance gig with a new smaller agency — doesn’t feel like a good fit and it’s not full time- I have other jobs inquiring. Is it bad to quit for something fulltime?

Do you think you’re any good? Find it interesting that some creatives think they’re the best while others think they’re god awful. Why do we do that?

My company closed weeks before the pandemic hit, making it virtually impossible for me to find a job since last March. I’ve been sending dozens of resumes out, most places haven’t responded. Aside from a couple of small freelancing jobs, my family of 4, is living off of my husband’s salary and the extended unemployment I’ve been getting. I’m beyond frustrated and wonder if I need to consider a career change? How long do I wait? I’ve got 20+ years in advertising and it’s all I know.
