Hi folks, given difficulty in getting visa stamping done in India at the moment, any thoughts on getting it stamped in Canada? Any risks I should be aware of? (I have always gotten my stamping done in India in the past) Thank you.
People who came to the US on L1B, and successfully switched jobs (assuming visa switch from L1B to H1B), could you please share your experience or provide any useful tips? Feeling stagnant and trapped at my current job partly due to visa restrictions and ofcourse the pandemic situation. Looking to jump ship but not even sure if it's possible on an L1B.
I’m from a country in Asia. What’s the best (I’ll also add easiest in terms of work visa) city to kickstart my overseas career? 3 years experience. Single. With real work that won awards.
I got my I-140 approval but EY Law said they can’t start I-485 until I get promoted. I’m trying to see whether I should apply H4 visa for my spouse so she can have an H4 EAD or wait until October to do this given I don’t get promoted and I-485 will be stalled for another year.
My stem OPT ends 2022 but I will be transitioning to H1b this October. My firm requires I complete the last page of the I-983 form but I am not sure what date range to put since I still have 12 months on the stem opt. Does any one know if I should put the range to end September 31st or next year when the stem opt actually expires?
Did anyone have a their H1b lottery picked and approved through a different employer while working with Deloitte and transferred back to Deloitte after H1b approval
My fiancé is on H1-b and his parents’ US tourist visa expired. Is there any way to expedite the visa process so that they can come to US for marriage functions? I am a US citizen if that helps at all.
What are some scenarios that would cause the USCIS to deny someone’s H1B after being selected in the lottery?
Anyone here who started their consulting careers later in life? Always seeing posts about how young people make it to P... wondering about the other stories. I started as a C at 29 (yes, unfortunately, I fall into the bucket of exp hire hired at a lower level...), made M at 33. Doing well but also feeling like I’m already too old to aim to be a P. Hoping for some perspectives.
Meeting with a recruiter at one of the FAANG companies. I won’t be able to move jobs because of H1b /GC at least for the next year. Any idea if I should start off with that or should I just try to understand the work that they have been doing?
Anyone got recommendations for fantastic immigration lawyers in CA? My fiancé is on a green card (2 years away from citizenship) and would like to have his elderly parents join us here in the US (they’re currently on visitor visa) 🙏🏻
If you could work remotely full time and live anywhere in the US where would you choose to live? (Assuming all visa hassles addresses around proximity to office etc)
Curious if there’s any international students/professionals on here who has tried to go the entrepreneurial route? How did you manage immigration issues and investors’ adversity against legal risks? Would appreciate chat in the DM as well if people don’t feel comfortable talking about their legal status here. Thank you for your help!

Can you make Partner on H1B?

Is Accenture a good place to start in security for a new grad? I just got an offer for security consulting/analyst in the US commercial side. I think I want to specialize in cloud technology/security or threat detection. I am concerned that I will be thrown on a random project when I start out and it will stunt my career growth. My alternatives so far are being a junior SRE for a big insurance company or system engineer at a big retail company. Then I could make a lateral move from there.

I'm sorry if this is out of place, but is anyone interested in coming on my veteran podcast? I work for a Nonprofit Organization that provides supportive services to veterans in CA, NV and AZ and our podcast discusses issues relevant to veterans. I'm organically searching for veterans who are willing to talk about their experiences, mental health and healthcare, employment, case management, housing for the homeless, etc. We don't require you to be an expert on anything.
What’s the best way to capitalize on this hot market right now? Just applying on LinkedIn? Trying to find an application strategy but not sure where to start.

Looking to shift from litigation to corporate roles. Considering these difficult times, does it make sense to take a corporate in-house paralegal position within a large company? The goal would be to use the position as a foot in the door to this new practice area. It has been difficult to land a job within litigation, let alone switch practice areas. Thoughts?
Any good shows to get into for the upcoming holiday break? Something similar to Succession perhaps but open to any suggestions
Company I am interviewing with is small, so it doesn't have a 401(k). Any suggestions on how to invest well in other ways if I want to do more than the $6,000/year an IRA would allow?
