I loved OT as a beginner because you can choose to walk vs run. The hardest part is not to compare yourself to anyone and just focus on yourself. Some people there will be fast runners but that should not affect you!

Signed up pre-COVID as a newbie who never really went to the gym, ever, so I knew I needed classes with instructors. Cancelled when I moved, but missed it a lot, and ended up signing up again a few weeks ago - honestly it’s great, because it really doesn’t feel like anyone is judging you - between the orange lights and the loud music, no one can hear how much I’m struggling 😅

No one except for the instructor that is - they always know when I decide to sneak in a short rest, and also pick the right times to challenge me to use a heavier weight

Don’t be nervous! Everyone there has the common goal of bettering themselves and that’s enough to make you belong! The classes are hard with walking or running, you can do either. You’ll be amazed at the progress made in varying exercises as you continue to attend classes. And the music helps!

Since the start of the pandemic, I have been fairly safe and really haven’t gone anywhere (I think I went to TJ Maxx once in a moment of weakness lol). My family on the other hand hasn’t taken any precautions and actually did contract COVID. They keep telling me I’m paranoid and need to start going out but with COVID being worse now than it was back in March, I rather just not. I just want them off my back and wish they would respect my decision to not expose myself like I respected them.

Want to buy property in / near NYC. I know with covid prices in the city (I’m assuming the 5 boroughs) went down, while prices outside of the city went up. Is that enough of a move in the market to make it worth it to buy in the city (and not in Long Island for example)?

Moms, I have a 2 year old and a 3 month old. Everyone on my family is vaccinated. What are safe activities to do with these kiddos in the midst of all this covid variant environment. I thought about the pumpkin patch, hiking, the park, and walks as long as we distance from others. I just get nervous about catching colds or a breakthrough covid infection. I’m not paranoid, just risk averse. The whole family got the TSV bug a month ago, and it was miserable. Just trying to be practical, but not a

I wrote a rec letter for one of my legal assistants for law school right before COVID got bad and we all started working remote. Ever since then, this assistant has seemingly been slacking. There’s only so much I can actually see/review without seriously micromanaging her. I’ve spoken to her about her slacking at least twice and both times she just brushed it off. I want to withdraw my rec letter, but I feel like it’s too late. She is leaving at the end of the summer. Should I just let it be?
