Thoughts on moving from B4 Advisory to Houlihan Lokey in their Valuations practice? Portfolio Valuations and Advisory group to be exact. Not sure what the WLB, career progression, or comps are at Houlihan Lokey. Any insights on this team and what I can look at for comps, etc.? Thanks in advance!
Anyone willing to share first hand / second hand information on Accenture M&A Strategy? Is it mostly PMI/PMO/IT ? What other work do they do within M&A? Culture? How do they compare with B4 counterparts?
Did anyone go from Big 4 to Big law here? Wondering what that was like/if it’s even possible.
Currently a BA with about 1.5 ish years of consulting experience at boutique companies and looking to get promoted but will have to wait 1 year due to work politics. Is it worth staying or worth looking at B4/ MBB opportunities?
Is moving from big 4 to a firm like BDO or RSM really gonna be any different? I feel it’s like it’s mostly the same big 4 or not
Does Fishbowl allow people to have access to two separate Big 4 bowls? I'd like to join the Deloitte bowl, but I don't see the "Join" button.
About to join a Big 4 in 3 weeks and just found out that I'm pregnant. Will I still be eligible for parental leave?
Do you think smaller public accounting firms would pay someone with manager/director big 4 experience to come in as an outside coach/consultant to coach and mentor their seniors and associates? Maybe if the pay structure was conditional to only if the consultant could improve retention rates or some other metric? Thanks!
Decent profile and 80k pay at a big 4 or shitty profile and 140k pay in the industry? In either cases getting no where!!!
I left a boutique consulting company because I felt under utilized. Joined a larger supposedly hip consultancy with local market model with great expectations and am finding myself let down by the experience - the client, work, teamwork and collaboration, technical content is not per what was promised and feels like I am back to my b4 days. I was a fool to fall for the kumbaya in consulting crap - I am best developing products with great teams. Industry looks down on me. What are my options?
As a senior manager with 9 years yoe in B4. I feel like sales is not my thing but I am ok with delivery , problem solving. What should I consider: I love talking to people but hate the sales..how did people make the transition and be successful I consulting Are there non sales-sy partners ?
Is the staffing process easier/less stressful at MBB vs Big 4 vs Accenture/Capgemini etc.? Or maybe this is just how our profession is...

Young professional seeking guidance on different ways to get certified as an HR Professional - I have about a year of experience as the HR coordinator for a start up and I have taken a few courses through Cal Chamber and SHRM…any pointers or guidance on next steps?
Hey there! I work in a mid-size full service agency with a growing marketing team. We currently don't have a CD due to our size and current client portfolio, but that's a role I'd love to step into when the time is right and my management is on board with that. Any advice on how to prepare for that kind of role without changing agencies? Or anyone open to mentoring me? I'd love to learn from a CD or ACD to see what they're doing and what I can bring without leaving my team!
How did you get into your area of law? I have been licensed for 5 years and I still don't know where I ultimately want to be. I started as a line attorney and after 3 years, I moved to a non-litigation position working for the state. I feel lost. I have thought about getting MBA to compliment my JD. I was a good litigator but I had trouble turning off my brain and being present with my family when I was a litigator, so I don't think I would want to go back.
I think I’m going to contact a bunch of legal recruiters and tell them I’m looking to hire, set a bunch of calls just to take up their time, then reveal that I’m not really hiring after all. Just had the most unprofessional experience with a recruiter who bait and switched a position just to set a call and then hung up in the middle without calling back. What a waste of time.
What's the culture like in Booz Allen Hamilton? Got a text from a recruiter and would like to know if it's worth pursuing Booz Allen Hamilton
Newbie question… Am I allowed to bill for reading internal emails about a matter? As the only first year on most of my matters I’m just cc’d on a ton of emails with the more senior folks strategizing. I read them all so that I don’t look dumb if asked to do something. But will the client pay for my time just reading emails? If so, what’s the best way to phrase this?
I didn’t get an interview with a company I applied to and really wanted. I want to ask for feedback but not sure who to approach because the email was sent from an automated mailbox. Any advice on how to find the appropriate individual?

How to you tell your manager you’re leaving? I see her as a mentor and has done much to help my career, but I’m ready to try a new company. (She thinks I’m ready to start her new project next week) This is my first time moving companies so any tips appreciated!
Articling student in Canada (8 month internship with potential hireback), currently doing transactional work. I’m WFH and having a hard time building relationships with partners. I’m friendly/chat with associates and am on great terms with one partner who gives me work often, but not much else. The firm “encourages” reaching out to partners to chat, though I’ve tried and been essentially ignored. Partners rarely have enough time to give me feedback, so I feel they don’t have time to chat.
Hot Take: Defining your self-worth by working at FAANG, MBB, or Bulge Bracket Bank or going to a M7 Business School isn’t the move.
