Anyone here move from litigation at a law firm to advising on compliance in-house? How was the transition? Do you use Westlaw or other sources for your research? Do you like it better than litigation? Really nervous about this move I may be making…

Also interested! I’m contemplating making this move too because I like compliance work much more than litigation but I’m nervous about being labeled “compliance” rather than legal. What area of compliance are you in?

Any in-house recruiters that work with juniors or even someone who could just apply to in-house jobs for you? I’m too busy to look but really want to leave

I received an offer I can’t turn down. My company had a few others leave recently, and my close counterpart is on vacation until October, so the GC and rest of the company will likely be in disarray after I leave.

For in-house counsel roles, does firm prestige matter? For example, would the fact that an applicant is from Sullivan & Cromwell vs, say, White & Case matter at all, or is it much more about experience/interview? Boss is gaslighting? Just experienced this for the first time - and would love to hear others’ experiences, too. For the past few years, my micromanager boss asked that I send them every draft of every contract to review, no matter how minor. In my performance review, when asked why I wasn’t promoted, they said that a reason was because I need to learn to stop sending them drafts to review! I said that I only did this because they asked for it, and they said they don’t remember saying that!

My co-worker is so resentful and competitive because I was promoted over her last year which caused a demotion on her end. People in the company still go to her for things that should be for me but she rarely corrects them. Shes still involved in the company too in a way that allows her to know secrets that I should know about but never do. I technically am above her within the company but this is how things are. I just do my job and try to not let it bother me but it does. Any suggestions?
