I moved from industry to consulting as the progression wasn’t structured enough for my liking (only way to get a pay rise was to leave). Work in industry was a little more chill, we had freedom to explore and not feel like slaves to an SoW, and were more open about what we did/didn’t understand. This also made problem solving more effective generally at times and more interesting too.

Down to personal preferences really! A lot of people like the project lifecycle, regularly changing teams and customer service elements of consulting that can be difficult to get in ‘industry’ roles.
