Hello everyone! First time mom here, son is 11 weeks old. What to start with in the search of a daycare? What criteria I should have to find a better place for my kid?
My dog lives with me in my apt with a 30 inch crate, he’ll be with my mother for a month. Her house is much bigger than my apt, is it bad to order a larger crate for there? Will he come back and be squished?
On parental leave and am contemplating quitting/taking a new job but not until after bonuses hit. Any issue with giving notice while technically still out on leave but after bonus is deposited?
75 lets go baby
Just found out my best friend's wife is pregnant and want to get her something. Any tips??
Am I having some sort of existential crisis? We’re a month away from trying for our first kid and I just keep thinking about how sad I am to lose my current life of freedom/ease. I can’t get through Adele’s “When We Were Young” without crying. I know there’s beauty on the other side and motherhood is always something I’ve wanted dearly. I just can’t seem to get where the bout of sadness is coming from.
There’s so much of a race to marry and settle down for male and female desis, so for those of you who got divorced with or without a child what is your life about now? This culture is so unforgiving so much of the time, that without both these things in place they’re not about inclusion much either. Do you still feel a sense of urgency to race to remarry?
Looking for help related to maternity policy which states we’re eligible for 16 weeks postpartum and it should be taken within first 6 months from delivery. Does it have to be consecutive 16 weeks?
For those who have taken parental leave, do you uninstall your work chat app from your phone while you’re away? What about email? Do you delete the account from your email app?
Has anyone started traveling yet? Client’s city has not had an outbreak and I’m slated to travel soon. I’m fairly nervous and refuse to fly so looking at driving 5-6 hours. I also have a young kid and my husband works lengthy hours so I’m pretty apprehensive but don’t feel like I’m at liberty to decline travel.
Soon to be working mom and only female / working mom MD. I’ll be first to have a baby at the entire firm and I really want to keep my foot on the gas in my career so childcare is so important. What do childcare/ parental benefits look like across PE? Any information is much appreciated as I try to navigate what’s appropriate to ask for. Thanks in advance.
Looking to vacation next summer in Greece and Italy with the fam. When you all book on bonvoy points do you reserve the room just for yourself or do put the actual number of people? When I search for just 2 people staying the room, there is availability to use bonvoy points. When I search for 3 people(6y/o kid) nothing is available. The same in Athens, Rome & Naples.
Is anyone a 100% remote? I know it’s a great opp to be remote during the covid and flu season esp with a young baby (5 month old) but I can’t shake the feeling off that I’m missing HHs and just team events. Doesn’t help that I’m based out of a state where the majority of the team is not present.
Moms, we are visiting family in the US, and we plan to buy diapers for our nine month old in the US. Should we buy Huggies from Costco, or the Kirkland brand? Baby is used to very soft Pampers here in Europe. Thanks!
This is an interesting article! Thought I’d share. https://www.psychiatryadvisor.com/home/topics/child-adolescent-psychiatry/pandemic-anxiety-among-adolescents-associated-with-depression-poor-health/
The worst words I've ever had spoken to me were 'not compatible with life.' Today is the one year mark since the procedure and loss of what would have been our first child. I'm about to go on a bender 🥃
Are you entitled to parental leave benefits from Day 1 at Accenture? We will have a baby within the first year of me working at Accenture…trying to confirm whether I’ll be eligible for leave benefits.
Hi mommas. Slowly weaning 4 month old from breast milk and wanting to move to only formula by 5 months. I know lots of people get formula shipped from Europe but that seems too much of a hassle. What US formula are you using? We’ve tried happy baby organics and Bobbie and I’m not sure which one is better (debating if having probiotic is a plus or no). Any thoughts welcome!
Hi all, New to the area and I’m looking for good dentist recommendations who doesn’t have excessive prices. My SO came in to an office and they quoted us $800 for deep cleaning after insurance, which is 4x what we paid for deep cleaning at the previous dentist in Houston. They also wanted us to pay upfront before any procedure is done. That seems very sketchy to us, so we’re looking to get second opinion and switch office. TIA!
Any Darden admits or rejects? Was denied and they were my top choice.. i was also super confident in my application, but didn’t get an interview so who knows. Either way, feeling dejected and trying to see profiles of others who were accepted/rejected. Feel free to DM.
Moving to New York. What salary would you want if you were looking at a 4k apartment? No other debt, late 20s.
I am currently an audit associate at a big 4. How hard is it to switch to TAS-FDD / valuations with less than one year of experience or close to one year
I plan on putting in an application for a Strategy& SA position. If anyone is interested in chatting for 15 minutes to see if it’s a good fit, it could be mutually beneficial.
I am a recent law clerk applying for AUSA positions. Any advice on how to stand out? Any successful stories out there currently working as an AUSA?
Any of you finding that the MBA admissions process is taking a toll on your productivity at work? Trying to perform at the same level while also focusing on applications/essays seems is proving to be really tough.
I mentioned that I was a bit nervous for the interview/didn’t know what exactly to expect in my HBS reflection and I’m worried that was bad to include. I don’t want them to think I wasn’t prepared. Also can’t tell how important the reflections are.
Those who have done AML case reviews at a Big 4. 1- Is the work easy? 2- Are your days predictable? 3- Are the hours long? 4- Is there any client interaction? 5- What exit opportunities are possible afterwards? 6- Is it as close to a comfortable 9-5 job within consulting?
Had an interview today with EY PAS. Does anyone have any insight on this group? Role would focus on Org Design and M&A
Should i consider joining Microsoft Global Deliver Center(MSGD) as Technical Consultant? Is that a good role? Is it a good company? Not much info is available on this. Anyone having knowledge please comment. Edit: I should specify that its not Microsoft India Development Center (MSIDC) where core product development is being done

Very impressed with SWA today. Hubby got delayed 3h then stuck on tarmac 3h at LGA Thurs night. Last night we got a $150 travel voucher for the inconvenience even though delay was weather related!
Hi , I'm working as a C# .net Mircoservices / API automation test QA engineer with 3 years of experience , I'm looking for a job switch , please do send in referrals if you have any thanks !
Has anyone joined a team that is all full time remote, with people in different countries and time zones? How has the onboarding process been? Have you been able to form a connection with your team? Considering some opportunities but very skeptical of how this would all go down and if it would be super lonely and depressing. There may not be a chance to actually meet people and have that bond with your co-workers that makes work bearable
Need some tips, I’m interviewing at Edelman for a pharma/health general advertising role and all of my experience is from a smaller b2b tech agency solely doing paid advertising. I’m a bit nervous around interviewing for this role with experience that isn’t a perfect match, any advice?
Christmas/holiday gift ideas for assistants?
Leaving my glorious M role for an L7 nontechnical position at Amazon. For those looking to exit consulting, here are things that worked for me: 1. Be patient. I looked for over a year before finding this and dealt with tons of ghosting, rejections and discussions that were a waste of time. 2. Don't filter out locations. If the role looks like a good fit, apply. In my case this was a really niche job that is tough to match so we worked out a compromise where I won't need to relocate. (cont'd)
